I just got finished watching the Campolindo/Manteca game. The final score was 77-27, running clock in the 4th quarter. I need help with a couple of things: 1) why were Campo's best 3 players in the game in the 4th quarter? 2) why did Campo continue to fast break? Is there bad blood between the programs?

I wondered myself last season, when MM hung 100 on Campo. I don't want to sound like an apologist, and I'm not inside any coach's head, but I doubt that there's bad blood, or that it's personal. If a team plays up-tempo, there aren't a lot of opportunities in practice to work on rhythm and player connections in the full court. A few starters on the floor may be the lubricant that makes the engine run. I think we should give the coach the benefit of the doubt, and he/she is doing what's best, in his/her mind, for the team. In Campo's case, there is definitely a post-season run on the agenda.

I plan to attend this season's Campo/MM games.

I spoke to Manteca's coach a couple of weeks ago when the big kid from Manteca
hurt her ankle is she still out?

I just saw her in the game.
So you were at the woodside priory, salesian
And Manteca games you saw three big kids 6' 3" to 6' 5" can you evaluate all three?

That should make for a pretty good matchup with Campolindo vs Vanden in the semi-finals.

I have to put Campolindo as slight favorites who appear to be gaining a little confidence along with the experience. The key will be which team is able to somewhat slow down the two most valuable players. Haley Van Dyke for Campolindo and Vanden's Julia Blackshell-Fair. They both also have a player or two who can get hot knocking down the 3 point shot. I haven't seen Vanden play enough this year to comment. I think they struggled a bit in Arizona at the TOC. They loss one of their gun slingers Kiana Moore from last season to graduation. So I think Campolindo may have a slight depth advantage, but I could be wrong? Both teams have enough speed and athleticism to run with each other.

The other side of the bracket Heritage vs Brea Olinda should be a pretty evenly matched game. I think the winner of the Vanden vs Campolindo game will be slight favorites in the WCJ Gold division. I have to admit If I recall correctly I had Vanden and the winner of Brea Olinda vs Woodside P. as the three favorites when I first saw the gold bracket teams. I thought Woodside would play better ball than they are thus far. Perhaps someone missed a lot or all of their last few games with injuries or early foul troubles? And I thought Vanden who has an upcoming game with CW would be starting to get into their groove about this time. I must say Vanden will need to kick their game up a bit starting in the next game or two or they will really struggle vs CW in about exactly 1 week. And I think Campolindo is progressing slightly ahead of where I expected them to be this season. The Salesian upset may have gotten the players to believe they are as good as their coach has been thinking they are all along.

Brea Olinda is obviously missing several players K. Richardson to graduation and I hear Watkins and another starter both transferred out or they would be the favorites to win the gold bracket. They still have a couple players that stood out when I watched them play Miramonte at the Nike TOC in Arizona. Good luck to Campolindo and Vanden. The Norcal dominance continued as I hear CN easily had their way with Chaminade.
