A 2 year post season ban for spring club ball. Sac Joaquin section only section pursuing sanctions. Capital played teams from central section and north coast section.

You wonder if there is more to it. Capital Christian has to be one of the most drama filled schools in norcal. Never a dull moment.

Ripon Christian and Stone Ridge Christian also received postseason bans.
Vacaville Christian got probation.

Seems interesting that only 4 out of the 9 schools who played are getting sanctions. What was the difference between them and how did the other 5 schools get around the rules?

The punishment seems harsh. I have heard some say that the issue was the team using the high school equipment/gear.

Last I checked, Big Valley Christian, Central Catholic, Grant, Hughson, & Woodland Christian, were all in the SJS.

My wife’s cousin played in the league he went to St Joseph’s in Santa Maria they got no sanctions in different section

That's great. But what about the 5 schools that I mentioned? They also fielded teams in the CAPS league and were giving warnings from the SJS, but they didnt receive any sanctions. Why not?

Not sure…….I misinterpreted your post, I thought U said 4 teams in the sjs got sanctioned and the rest of the teams didn’t and I said maybe the other 5 teams were out of the section which knowing a team in the central participated and didn’t get sanctioned

My bad

Who was sanctioned and who wasn't is boring. Why they were sanctioned is more interesting. Anyone consider this an overreach by CIF?

So I spoke with someone in the know at Capital and the section says that because they used the school field and equipment, uniforms etc it was a "school team" not a club team, which means they played 2 seasons last year. That's the sections stance.

Now keep in mind half the roster was made up with kids from other schools, the uniforms were unmarked without any kind of team name and the field was rented from the church.

The interesting twist is that there is a kid that has transferred in this year that played on the club team. When Capital asked Garrison directly if they needed to disclose this fact on the transfer paperwork since in Garrison's mind it was a school team, not a club team, Garrison didn't know how to respond. He later told them to disclose it.

You have to inform the CIF if you have coached a transfer prior to their transfer. It falls under the undue influence part of transfer paperwork.

For sure, but I guess Capital's point was if your going to call it a school team, then he technically already played for the school and it wouldn't be undue influence or a transfer. Semantics of course, but Garrison not knowing how to answer the question initially is comical.

God the sections and the CIF look out for $$ /themselves first…..then somewhere at the bottom of their priorities is the kids best interest. Never have bothered to look at an application or the requirements to work there, but common sense, smarts and consistency for sure isn’t listed.
