Interesting...joining them. does that mean she'll play that first 1/2 season and if she does, does it equate to one year of playing?? Seems kind of weird if it did. It's not like football where it's a fall sport...GRATS on UNC!

it happens often. Chloe Kitts played at South Carolina in Dec 2022 which would have been her senior year of high school. It did count as a whole season for her as she is listed as a junior now. The benefit is you get an early start on classes and with the transfer rules, as long as you graduate you get an extra year anyway somewhere else. It is not weird, you can go get paid earlier.

Even is a player goes to college in January and doesn't play, they get to practice with the team and use their training facilities, trainers, etc. That's a big plus also.
