VC jumped out to an early 9-3 lead, but Aragon came back to lead 16-15 before the first quarter ended with VC up 18-16.

At the half, VC 35, Aragon 21. Willis and Mason with 9 points each for VC.

Apparently, VC literally shot the lights out during their 13-0 run in the second quarter because we have a power outage here at Independence. Meanwhile, Aragon warming up in the dark for the last 19 minutes or so, now joined by VC.

The power is out in the entire area. No telling on when it will be back. CCS just made an announcement that if power is not restored within a reasonable time the games will be moved to a substitute location because the games have to be completed for the seeding meeting tomorrow. I have no idea where the substitute location is.

Meanwhile, Aragon continued to shoot in the dark. Most of the VC players are huddled up, waiting. Now Aragon sitting in a circle in the floor. Groans from the crowd when CCS announced the games might be moved. Piedmont Hills might be a possibility. It's a big gym and not too far. Wonder if they have power. :)

Word is they could delay for up to 90 minutes and still get the games in.

Sounds like we're moving to Piedmont Hills... No official announcement yet.

Everyone got set up only to realize the teams are on the wrong sides...

And... They're about to get underway... 35-21 VC to start the third quarter.

The atmosphere here is great. A packed gym is always better than a half filled one. VC up 54-42 after three.

Aragon got within 6 but VC holds on for a 69-62 win. For the Warriors, Fallon Dexheimer with 18, Nyah Willis with 17.

Castilleja will head for NorCals and Aragon won't? And we're talking about competitive equity? Ridiculous.

Nasty Casty--WOW Col what is that all about? Ah the CCS with another fine decision!!! What a joke.

Time to wobble on down to Henry's Hi Life for a double gin marti to try to come to grips with all this. Two olives, please. Feel free to join me. Bring an umbrella.

To make the situation worse, CCS has the ability to send an at large team, regardless of division but has chosen not to. It is a real shame

The whole situation stinks. The whole WCAL and WBAL will be going to Nor Cals. That sort of sums up CCS. Let's take care of the privates and throw the publics a bone. CCS is a complete joke.

Regarding Nasty Casty, Aragon crushed the Palo Alto privates by 30 during the pre-season. But Casty will go to NorCals and Aragon will stay home. So much for CCS fairness, not to mention "equity."

With Casty going on the Girls side you have 13 privates going to Mor Cals and only 4 publics going from CCS. Nice job, let's give away more bids if CCS did lik the other sections did , we would have Aragon, Sequoia and Carlmont going to Nor Cals. All three are deserving especially Aragon. BRUTAL

Great point about the CCS system punishing public schools. If the public school principals cared about such things, they could raise a stink at the CCS general meeting.

Luckily, it will change somewhat next year ...
