On the opening drive, CC gets to Oakdale's 40 yard line, but turns it over on downs. 8 minutes left in Q1

CC gets on the board with less than a minute left with a 2 yard TD for Justin Rice. The Raiders lead Oakdale 7-0.

Rice might get 50 carries tonight

Oakdale went for it on 4th and goal from the 6 yard line and Olsen gets sacked for a turnover on down. I would have taken the 3 points if I was Oakdale.

Central already had 3 procedure penalties and a personal foul

Oakdale's best runs seem to be on the misdirections. CC is all over the initial read. And as I type that , Oakdale gets its first score on a deep play action pass.

7-7 with 339 left in the first half

Central has had two bad punts in the first half.

CC has the ball at Oakdale's 25 with less than a minute left in the first half

Oakdale gets an interception to end the half.

7-7 after 24 minutes

Midway through the third quarter, Oakdale misses a 37 yard FG. Central has outplayed Oakdale, but the Mustangs have held at key points.

Petlansky scores on a 5 yard run. CC leads 14-7 with less than a minute left in Q3.

Rice has been slowed down some after the first quarter

Oakdale QB Adam Olsen has picked up three or four first downs with his legs tonight.

CC forces a TO on downs at its own 44 yard line with 8 minutes left.

Raiders defense matches up well with Oakdale's scheme (physical on physical). Wonder how they will do with better speed if they end up advancing

Oakdale is taking over on its own 21 yard line with 4 minutes left. Got a fourth down stop on a Petlansky sneak attempt

Olsen tries to pick it up on fourth down and he gets stopped a yard short. CC Gets the ball on Oakdale's 21 yard line with 3 minutes left.

Central Catholic beats Oakdale 21-7. Raiders have a really solid group.

They sure are!! Not sure MC or CN will be able to give them much of a game. I would pick Oakdale over either one of them. It seems like CC can play any kind of game right now. Physical, finesse, run, pass, slow, fast anything anyone has they seem to have an answer for it. They will now be D2 next year so that means they will have to really step up their game. They have certainly been on a nice run over the last 4 or 5 years though!!!!!

What CC does with 350 co-ed stundents is DLS like. I would like to know from the Modesto locals if they pull in the best atletes.

This was the first year they were in D3 section, and yes they were on a good run over last 4 years, but previous 3 they won D4 not the D3 and this year is one of there best teams. They won't be the same team next year they are this year and their reward for having such success at D4 and they win D3 first year there is to play in D2 with a less talented team next year. Not really fair in my opinion.

Despite their section crown in D3 this year, they are placed appropriately at D3. Yes they beat Oakdale 21-7, but let's not forget the game was tied at 7 until almost the 4th quarter when CC went up 14-7. The game most likely would have ended with that score, but Oakdale decided to be gutsy on their own. 21 yd line and it backfired, so the game ended 21 to 7. Very competitive game and CC's team last year would not have won the D3 section. It tooK one of CC's best teams in years to win this section, so I feel it is a mistake forcing CC up to D2 after winning the D3 first year in it. Im all for placing teams where they are competitive, so this is why I think D3 is a good landing spot for CC

Agree thunder. They are stacked and have a great QB. Does the winner of Newman vs Marin Catholic get them in the small school open?

Who knows. I can't figure their gorilla math out. Whomever it is, CC will be facing a very good team.

If CC repeats as State Champs for a 4th consecutive season, they will open some eyes. Most people don't realize how good this program is.

Yeah, so true. I've been impressed with them for a long time. You can argue they've been a perennial power for at least a decade. I think they had one season where they went like 7-5 but other than that it seems like 12-2, 14-1, 13-2, etc. etc. And now they are sitting at 14-0.

And they managed to win 61 in a row once. I think that's the 2nd longest streak in CA next to you know who.
