Here we are at Capital Christian

My fabulous Campolindo Cougars, aka the Tough Kids from the Back Alleys of Moraga, have traveled up here to Sacramento, California, USA (as a jazz song I know states, it’s only two hours from where ya wanna be!) to take on a very talented Capital Christian team...

Campo is now 23-6 after taking down Serra a couple nights ago, while CC is 25-8 after ending Clovis North’s season on the same night.

Capital: #25 in CA
Campo: #32 in CA

So, yeah, they’re close... I gotta admit, I’m worried about this one, esp. on the road... btw, niiiice gym here.

Also, btw... We early arrivals are getting entertained by CC’s band, and I’d say they’re one of the best HS bands I’ve heard... (Yes, I’m kinda a band geek, too!)

Carter answers... tied up.

Callas for 3!! 5-2.

CC #1 drives and scores... 5-4.

CC steal, #1 goes inside, miss but a foul on Callas. FT’s split. Tied at 5.

Obvious goaltend not called... CC drives and scores... 7-5 CC.

Callas fouled, splits FT’s... 7-6, but CC scores... 9-6 CC.

Callas drives and scores! 11-9. CC ties it right back up...

Callas with a nifty move, 13-11 Campo.

CC nice move of their own... tied up again.

Robeson for 3!! 16-13... 1:27 left in the 1st.

CC #5 scores... 16-15 Campo, time out with 56.7 left in the opening quarter.

Callas jumps a pass pattern... drives and scores! 18-15.

CC for 3... tied at 18. Scramble under the bucket as clock runs down... Chase gets a bonk on the noggin wgile tossing it up... GOOD at the buzzer! 20-18 after 1.

Aidan knocks one down... 22-20. CC right back. 22 all.

This looks like it’ll be a war all the way to the end...

Carter drives and knocks down his pantented floater... CC right back at us with one of their on... 24 all.

Nice cut by Callas to get an easy 2... 26-24. CC right back AGAIN... 26 all.

Terrific move by CC #22 for a score... 28-26 CC.

Scoring has slowed down a bit, time out Campo with 1:47 left. Cougs ball after a failed home-run play attempt by CC went awry.

Callas takes a nice pass from Aidan and sinks a hook, bu CC drives and scores... 30-28.

Aidan with a midranger... 30 all.

Having a few scoreboard troubles here... Both teams sent to side while they figure things out... Here we go, 17.5 left, CC ball...

Campo gets a rebound, half-court shot by Cade Bennett draws iron but bounces out at the buzzer.

So... 30-30 at the half. We might be playing all night here...

Callas with a STRONG drive and half-hook... and is FOULED! FT swished, to tie it up yet again...

Offensive board by CC #1... puts it back, and is fouled... FT missed badly... but CC with the board and fouled... Time out CC, refs talking over foul numbers... I think it’ll be 1 and 1.

Aidan ends up taking a long 3... Cougs’ Max Weaver gets the board, is fouled... 1 and 1. 1:08 left.

CC takes a long 3... Airball, scramble for the rock, CC grabs it and calls another time out... 57.8 left, same score...

CC works for a shot, #5 backs in.. shot misses! Aidan rebound, fouled! Front end goes... 2nd GOES! 57-52.

CC goes down, sets up for #5 to take a 3... AIRBALL!! Callas board and fouled... FT missed, CC downcourt, corner 3... AIRBALL! CC #22 with the board, fouled... front end goes. 2nd MISS! Callas rebound, pass to Aidan who is fouled! 57-53, 2 shots for Aidan... Bingo! Bingo! 59-53... CC with a long 3 by #22... BAM!! 59-56...

According to MaxPreps, Sheldon v. Dublin will be at Cosumnes River College.

Same source says the Salesian boys and girls have a doubleheader at Albany HS.
