Quentin Kennedy transferred to Lincoln HS-SF in January. He played significant minutes in non-league. Lincoln was AAA champs and still in NorCals.is there a kid named quentin on the riordan team?

However, their PG is soph Quinton Bundage.Quentin Kennedy transferred to Lincoln HS-SF in January. He played significant minutes in non-league.
That’s awesome story. I do miss those days as well. I played against James French and Quentin Youngblood from EC. Also a really good lefty I can’t recall. Loved the old gym. Good stuffRick was at a few practices and definitely was a character. The best guy I ever sat next to as I became friends with the father back in those days, is when Roy Williams recruited Andrew(not Drew at the time) Gooden and was at a game at El Cerrito. He already had him committed. Drew’s dad said at half time so hey Coach how is he looking so far. Coach rattled off every stat off the top of his head. I miss the days when we would go to these games and see college coaches have to put in serious work to land kids. Roy literally went back to the airport that night cause he said he had a 6am practice to get to.
This is why I'd argue Wilhite was snubbed for league POY. The POY of one of the top Nocal leagues should not have their team bow out in the 1st round. That’s what St. Francis, Bellarmine, SHP, Mitty and DeLa had in mind. Lol
12. That was an entirely different Riordan team, tbh. Chemistry and rotations have changed significantly since then. But Campolindo's defense is on another level. Excited for these two to face off again. Should be closer than the 17-point beating from December (which was a tight game at halftime). How many points did Wilhite score in Campo's 48-31 victory over Riordan up in Gridley this season?
One of the fun things about this Riordan team is the different guys who can step up. Last night it was #31 Passanisi with seven big points in the second quarter. #5 Edwards scored just two, but it was on a crucial late steal and layup, and he was the top defender on the floor.WCAL observer here, tied to Saint Francis. SFHS played Riordan 3 times this year. Two extremely close losses (tied in final minute) and one double digit loss. All 3 times, KJW scored in bunches as usual, but multiple other players absolutely had key and timely scoring contributions, in double digits. Also, the role players that contributed scoring against SFHS were not necessarily the same ones that contributed more scoring vs other WCAL teams. Impression from watching Riordan across multiple games was that they have landed on and bought into identity of a team with a single star first option, with everyone else grinding hard and not really actively looking to score, but stepping up when the opportunity presents itself.
the kid i was thinking about wouldnt be a 1. must be the other. he is a taller white kidHowever, their PG is soph Quinton Bundage.
You'd be thinking of Quentin Kennedy, then. I believe he's technically mixed race. Playing time declined as December went on and went to nearly zero in January. He left for Lincoln towards the end of January.the kid i was thinking about wouldnt be a 1. must be the other. he is a taller white kid
I was fortunate to have coached James French, who played for me his Freshmen year at Riordan (before transferring to El Cerrito for his sophomore year and beyond) with 2 other future stars at Riordan, Dorian Manigo and Dwayne Fontana. He was a terrific player for that squad that went 19-0 with no game closer than 10 points. That team defeated the Mitty Frosh A team twice by 50 points with the starting 5 sitting almost the entire 2nd half. My first year coaching HS ball, the 1986-87 season. Those are great memories and probably the most talented group of players I have ever been blessed to coach! Other players from that team were Jeff Speech,That’s awesome story. Rick was eating popcorn and offered me some. Who does that? Just a good Human.
Wilhite should have been at least co-MVP. He has had an incredible junior season! This is why I'd argue Wilhite was snubbed for league POY. The POY of one of the top Nocal leagues should not have their team bow out in the 1st round.
Coach! Wow, very cool. There were so many good teams /players in that era. SF public teams like mcateer and mission were loaded. I watched a few crusader classics in my youth!I was fortunate to have coached James French, who played for me his Freshmen year at Riordan (before transferring to El Cerrito for his sophomore year and beyond) with 2 other future stars at Riordan, Dorian Manigo and Dwayne Fontana. Coach Forslund
University lost to St. Francis in Div II.Great turnout of Crusader Nation at DLS last night! Must have been several generations of Riordan alum in attendance and the Riordan students that took the fan bus. Lots of City families have settle in the Concord/WC Lamorinda area. Agree with EK, different team than what Campo faced in Dec. No doubt Campo comes in as the heavy favorite, but really looking forward to this rematch. I heard the last time Riordan played DLS was almost 30 years ago!!! Riordan and Campo have faced off several times over the past decade. One was a NorCal game that the Crusaders came up with the W. (thinking it was the team with the Ugbaja cousins and Zach Masoli). More recently was the 2019 Gridley, 2020 COVID year and this past Dec. These teams are no strangers to each other. 3 WCAL teams remain in Norcals (RIordan, SI & SF) with fellow part-WCAL (WaterPolo) and CCS mate - SHP. San Francisco is still represented in NorCals as of today with SI, RIordan, Lincoln, Lowell, University and Stuart Hall. Hats off to Lincoln-SF and Lowell. Both of these programs did not play at all in 2020.
Lets ask the elephant in the room question... presumably you were a candidate for the SHC position. From the outside looking in, it is pretty uncommon for an associate athletic director to be "named" head basketball coach. That just appeared like nobody wanted the job so someone had to step in for the meantime. There appears to be barriers to why a 1000% qualified former coach like yourself isn't manning the sidelines. Can you speak to those barriers or can I make my assumption that being a high school head coach in today's modern landscape is far more challenging than when you last coached and you are just happy being an observer like the rest of us. Wishing you the best Doctor.Wilhite should have been at least co-MVP. He has had an incredible junior season!
No he’s not, and it’s not even close.King is a beast-Best Junior in Northern California.
So who would you say is so much better that "it's not even close " That's pretty big talk.No he’s not, and it’s not even close.
Where is Beasley from?Beasley is right there with Wilhite, and he’s got far less of a supporting cast, especially with Sevilla out.
Ryan Beasley from Dougherty Valley.Where is Beasley from?
Thanks O22, I haven't been following HS Basketball as closely as I usually do.Ryan Beasley from Dougherty Valley.
EBAL POY
No he’s not, and it’s not
I got Sanni over Ryan but I am prejudiced as I have watched Sanni play since 1st grade! I was on him early....Both are very good players. Don't think there is much that separates these two young men.
Wilhite is the Central Coast Section POY.
