Cougs Head on Up to Benicia…

Just got done watching the Cougs frosh plow right thru Benicia in a game which, after perusal of the limited Maxpreps info, I thought would probably be a tight contest…. Well, it was, for some 10 minutes of play…. The Cougs ran off with it, 63-26.

I have an idea that the Coug JV’s are a solid favorite here….

Panthers steal and travel…. ANOTHER steal, foul, 2FT’s…. Suddenly it’s 50-48 Cougs, 24.5 seconds…. Cougs ball..

Benicia foul…. bonus FT’s. Bingo…. Bingo!. Cougs lead 52-48, Benicia ball, 20.6 left.

Benicia gets it inside, miss, rebound, putback…. 52-50 Cougs, Cougs ball…. 3.2 left.

Quick foul…. FT’s…. Bingo, MISS!

Benicia time out, 1.8 seconds…. VERY long 3 try…. Off the top of the backboard, Cougs hang on!! 53-50.

So, varsity time…. Important to the Cougs for seedings, maybe more than that depending on however other league games turn out, but definitely do-or-die for Benicia.
