D1 Bracket OUT

I too like Las Lomas as team but like most teams, they have a weaknesses and Richie and the Dragons took advantage of it. The Knights are a 3 man wrecking crew and might be as good as anyone around. Robinson, Payne and Prince are all for real and they are triple threat players that cause huge match up problems. Holman is a nice 4th option but is limited, can only shoot threes, doesn't drive, can't create his own shot and if you don't leave him, it's very difficult for him to get his shot off. LL has two players that you really don't even need to guard and if you don't, they still won't shoot the basketball, this is what Richie and the Dragons did and turned the game to a 5 on 4, very smart. #10 off the bench for the Knights played well but was outplayed but #30 for the Dragons.
That's a fair assessment of the game and the LL personnel with the exception of Holman. I will admit he did not have his best game but that happens for all players from time to time. He was first team all-league this year and improved his ability to get to the basket on the dribble from last year. I think his body of work this year was key to LL's success. Let's hope he can show us his best in the run to state! Finally, I appreciate your recognizing the talent on the LL team. These boys, IMO, have been overlooked in the rankings and the social media pundits, all while staying focused and giving the Walnut Creek community a lot to cheer about.

NCS' comments echo my mine after watching the LL - BOD game in person. One area that I feel that BOD didn't fully exploit to their advantage was interior play / post ups with Gaskin. That's an area that I really feel that LL has no answer for. Also LL is screwed if Devin or Nate get into serious foul trouble.
Folsom and Capital would beat every team you listed. Right now Sacramento basketball is just better than the Bay Area. I think they put the correct teams in the open division, they just seeded them wrong. They seeded D1 and D2 poorly as well.
Idk about that, MC beat Capital twice this yr so I think Capital's seed placement correct, May even argue that Folsom should be #7 & not #8 seed being that I feel Folsom the better team of the 2 currently, but irregardless they're both the DOG' in their matchups, and yes Sac basketball is in the Elite class, but I really think this yrs version of elite squad's from Sac aren't as dominate as last yr or even of yrs before that, I only see Sheldon winning that 1st open game and Salesian after, I don't see them winning this game...

Good points and I appreciate your inside on things, I think he is a 3 point specialist and not much else unfortunately. He can dribble well but not under pressure as we saw in the BOD game and his ability to create his own shot and or get to the free throw line is lacking. I am sure a great kid and one heck of a 4th option with the other three studs but was exposed and coaches at this level have an ability to find the things you struggle in doing and make you do them. Congrats on a 1st team all league honors. So is it true then that Prince, Robinson, Payne and Holman all made 1st team then?

I don't know much about the first team selections other than Holman and Robinson being MVP.

Don't get me wrong, I love this LL team, but there must have been an awful lot of players who made first team all league, as there are many others in that league that would also be worthy. Thinking CVC, Campo, CP, ACA... Was this a 15 person all league team? Is it posted somewhere?

Palo Alto should have no problem with Delasalle. Too many weapons on Palo Alto and they are playing at home. PA by 10 points.

Dublin and Serra will be a war. Dublin won't get any easy baskets vs Serra so Dublin must hit its perimeter shots or it could be a long night.

Heritage will start slow but win again. Heritage vs Palo Alto will be a great game. Both teams can run!

Great point and valid but I have not seen anything posted but I doubt its a 15 man selection, lol. However, the WCAL has a seven-player team selection, if I remember correctly the DAL coaches selected five players last year.
