D4 Girls title game

So true. SRV beat us three times, won the league, and NCS, and we're state champs.

Question: From the outside, which team had the better year?

It depends who you ask. Family members and students that don’t really know how it all works would no doubt see State Champion and say that team was the best!

They both had fantastic seasons, and Carondelet obviously had a better finish, even if SRV was playing against superior competition in the Open. That’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Just another reason why you have lobbied in the past for Open banners or some sort of other recognition for teams that play in the top division and forego the easier path for a state championship.

Kelly has done a pretty good job at that in his prior stops at public’s Northgate & Miramonte.

A job well done by Carondelet in the D1 bracket. Congrats on winning it all!
But the 2 NCS public’s having historically great seasons that were placed in the Open above them surely helped ease their journey. “State Champs” has a nice ring to it, while “Open Participants” just get to watch the parades.
Clay would have hated my high school. In a town of a thousand who had several small other towns send us students. We were the number one rated team in the regular season and we beat Jerry West's team then. Our player won the West Virginia player of the year the next year (West won it that year). And we had two players off that team try out for the 1960 Olympic Team. and we never, never recruited from other towns. Just the born and bred.
