More confirmation of the California v Texas matchup which ESPN is supporting. This game will be a very meaningful and challenging game for the De La Salle Spartans! Hope more games between elite teams from these two states occur in the future. It will only be a good game if that Texas team knows how to defend the veer. They can have 5 star athletes across the board but if they can't defend that veer offense they will meet the same fate as many others have.

While the Veer came from Texas, it is interesting it isn't as common as one would think at the high school level. It will be interesting to see.

I had the pleasure of seeing Trinity play 4 years ago and they are impressive. A lot of Pacific Islander kids. Talking to the families I have learned that they have a state level football team and National Level Choir. They also have 2 JV teams. High School football in Texas is a religious experience. A lot of the Pacific Islander kids also are in the Choir. Great character kids that are stud football players too. Conditioning and the hot Texas weather early in the year will be a test for the boys from California. DLS talent is exceptional this senior class it is the right time for them to go to Texas.

Euless Trinity (TX): Offensive coordinator Chris Jensen has been promoted to head coach. He replaces Steve Lineweaver, who went 175-29 at Trinity.

I also read that their HC has stepped down and they have a new HC for this upcoming season... Their message boards are full of interesting info... one thread mentioned that several of their rival schools will be in attendance, in unison... to "give DLS a nice warm Texas welcoming experience they've never seen before"... This game may receive the same amount of hype the 2014 SJB vs, BG game got...
