New year and looks like there will be a new champ this season. Some strong competition at the top of this league based off the records and results from the first night!

Results:
Dougherty Valley 71- Dublin 63
Las Lomas 65- Campo 56
Miramonte 77- Acalanes 41
Alhambra idle

Anyone in attendance for any of these games?

Didn't see any of the games, but surprised Dougherty Valley beat Dublin. A lot of parity in the league this year.

DV is a more well-rounded team. Several players that can score without a dominate star. DV senior point guard is a great shooter. Dublin OTH primarily has one main scorer in Timmy Falls. It takes a team to win tough games.

Falls fouled out, but DV was already up 11 after 3, and was not going to lose. DV PG Grabow is a player. Surprised by the Campo score, but without Clark they may just be average. Give credit to LL though. Mats looking tough. Should be a very competitive league this year, outside of Acalanes and Alhambra.

I saw both teams play others. I'm not surprised DV won that game. A little undersized but well organized. The guard Grabow runs a very tight ship. He deserves attention. The team moved the ball very well in the game I saw and four guys could score. the power forward is very mobile and scored a bunch.

I think Miramonte will be a good test for them because of the size match ups. Dublin could reverse the result at their place. I saw that Falls had a technical so I wonder what went on that might have gotten into his head.

I was at this game and was surprised with how DV was in control most if not all of the game. Grabow was huge, knocking down 3's, getting DV into there offense and making clutch free throws down the stretch. Falls was pretty silent for most of the game, held in check until the 4th and then received a T late in the game, which DV took full advantage of. The Dublin program has had a few of these kinds of players that are really nice players but for a few minutes or even seconds, when they think they are bigger then the team and make costly mistakes, such as a T with under 30 seconds to play. Falls has seen previous teams and players at Dublin get away with this behavior and now he's the team leader and thinks it's ok. I really like his game but this kind of selfish behavior on the court will really hurt him and his team. Samra for DV was really the player that dominated this game, I think he lead all scorers with 24 or 26 points and Dublin had no answer for him. I have been disappointed over the years with the crowds & 6th man at most of the games I have attended but not at this game, DV and Dublin's 6th man was nothing short of impressive and the gym was packed, almost 2k in attendance for a Tuesday night league game, one of the better crowds I have seen in a very long time.
