Division II Game Thread: CVC (33) vs. REV (34)

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

REV picks up a 4th and 2 at midfield.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

A Sean Vaisima sack forces REV to punt. Vaisima has played well today holding up against the interior run and cleanly beat his man for the sack on that play. CVC starts around its 12 yard line

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

A third down pass by CVC is tipped and intercepted by REV, which has the ball inside CVC's 30 yard line. Second turnover for CVC.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

REV turns turnover into touchdown to take its first lead of the game. 28-21 with 644 left in Q3. REV hit a big crossing route to set up the score.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

2 scores on 2 turnovers due to great field position. Turnovers hurting CVC

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

NIce run by Harrison. Going toe to toe with the Oregon recruit.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Miles Harrison runs over the right side and bounces it out wide for a 42 yard TD. He is so smooth in and out of his cuts.

The PAT goes off the left upright. REV still leads 28-27 with less than 4 minutes left in Q3

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Missed extra point hurts.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Lovette is stopped on 3rd down out of the wildcat, but comes back on a sweep to pick it up on fourth down.

REV gets fresh sets of downs on its own 49.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Lovette has had his issues with drops today, but he made a great adjustment on under thrown ball on his double move as REV picks up a fourth and 10. Ball down near the 20 yard line.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

REV is 6 for 7 on 4th down conversions.

Most important stat of the game. On the next play, REV scores on another crossing route. REV hooks their PAT to leave it 34-27 with 1:09 left in Q3. Big play for CVC.

That's a stat you can build a game plan around.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

As I suspected, this game is pretty evenly matched. Every time I think one team has the advantage the other team answers back in some way.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Big play coming. Good timing for TO. Harrison looks spent. The kid is giving his all.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

CVC facing a 4th and 2 from the 19 with eight minutes left and Harrison picks it up. Harrison has set the bowl record for carries in a game according to different twitter accounts. He is at 44 carries

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Great play call and block to get Kiesel in for TD. Now make the extra point!

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

It seems like CVC defense has break downs on almost every 4th down.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Keisel keeps it for 17 yards and the score. He has had a handful of timely runs tonight. The PAT is blocked and it is 34-33 with 7:39 left. That's three misses by both teams.

How much more can you go to Harrison?

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Oh well. Still have to score again to win. In hindsight- should have went for two. :)

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

CVC recovers the fumble on the ensuing kickoff and are set up with a really short field.

Both games today have had major special teams plays.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Unbelievable...CVC recovers fumble. Think he was down though. Questionable call.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

hmmm - bad call but glad CVC gets the turn over.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

That is potentially the second big call to go NorCal's way today. Good catch by El Cap was ruled out of bounds in D3 game

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Couple calls today that could have impact games. One last game and one possible this game.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Streak One - you beat me to the post. Was thinking the same thing.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Third CVC turnover is a killer. On the doorstep, Keisel and Harrison aren't on same page for zone read and ball hits the ground.

REV takes over with 4:12 left.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Wow...huge turnover for CVC.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

REV putting the ball in Lovette's hands and let him make good decisions on this drive. Shouldn't go away from that.

Seems like all of us have been on the same page this game

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

REV conservative again on offense. Wodering if they will pass now. Big plays.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

NorCalSportsFan calls it and REV gets a first down through the air. CVC needs to go after the ball now

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Two things Murphy should have considered during that last drive before the fumble. Spread the D out with 4 wide outs to give Harrison a better chance to break through the line. Call a time out to give Harrison a blow after the long run to give him a blow before punching it in. The Harrison kid is spent and why not call your time outs to give him some energy to punch it in...

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Herrera hits Lovette down the right seam for a first down on 3rd and 15. And that should cap a state title for REV barring another crazy finish

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

Game over...big time pass play. CVC inability to defend the seam and middle has killed them in this game. Great game though and Miles Harrison is one yard short of the Bowl rushing record at 328 yards.

Re: Division II Game Thread: Clayton Valley Charter vs. Redlands East Valley

I like it that the REV players have to earn their name on their jerseys by maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average. Great way to promote grades.

REV is a very talented team. Great overall game. So far today, the games have been among the best in the bowls over the years as far as competitiveness.

Murphy will have plenty to second guess himself over but in the end REV made plays when they had to. Great game.

Nice!! Was pulling for REV in this one (friends kid used to play for them). Nice season for CVC!

Lot of great backs played and performed will this weekend, but you really got to feel for Miles Harrison. That was a gutty, impressive performance.

You think the fact that 19 of these CVC players stuffed into an elevator and got it stuck. They were in there about 45 min. Until the fire dept. came and got them out. They came out of there sweeting like pigs. It was all bad.
