DLS Heading to London!!?!!!

I like the announcer, " He finds a man, who finds a gap, who finds some running room"
Sounds like a page from The Cat in the Hat. Reminds me of sitting in the local library's Slipping Senior's reading sessions

31-9 final after a crazy tipped-pass off a DLS defender’s FOOT for the Academy TD as the clock ran out.

Great game by DLS. Didn't know what to think about the NFL academy coming into this but they are definitely physical. Seemed like they made a bunch of small mistakes which makes sense as some of these players have only played for a couple of years

Hot take of the moment I think the best team DLS will play in the regular season is St. Marys when it's all said and done. I admittedly don't know much about SRV (or the NFL academy until today) so looking forward to that game. I think Serra loses one more game this year leaving SM as their highest rated team.

St Mary a top 5 team in NorCal

Folsom
Pitt
De la salle
SRV
St Mary

The bishop Monague game still a head scratcher cause st Mary don't usually lose to teams like that

But st Mary is a top not cal school who is not afraid of anyone and played a great game vs de la salle

That loss to Serra at home keeps Folsom out of the top spot. Sorry. DLS handled the Padres. Folsom SOS does not match up.

I mentioned in other threads. The Monague game was an outlier. The weather was freezing and it was pouring down rain and SM was trying to break in a new QB. Also one of SMs top WRs wasn't fully healthy (and didn't finish the game). Coaches got spooked and completely went away from the pass game because they didn't trust it. With the type of WRs SM has it didn't make sense. Complet le head scratcher.

Also agree with Pitt over DLS. I actually think Pitt is the number one team in NorCal. Folsom is good but I don't think base don SOS you can put them above DLS or Pitt. Alsonas I mentioned not sure about SRV. I am looking forward to the DLS vs SRV game. From what I'm hearing about them it should be a good one!

Overall though I wouldn't disagree with your top 5 but may switch the order up a bit.

Pitt
DLS
Folsom
SM/SRV (I'll hold this until I see SRV play DLS next week)

I wasn't putting them in order

I take De la salle over all with the way they playing

But Folsom and Pitt in the conversation

DLS
Folsom
Pitt
St Mary
SRV

U explained it well cause I was like how did St Mary lose to them

But don't be surprised if St Mary give Folsom a good game if they meet in the playoffs

The Question about SM is was the BM game an outlier or was the DLS game the outlier?….. Hard to tell…..

For Nor Cal Top 5 I would go….

DLS
PITT
SRV
SI
Folsom/ST Mary’s

Gotta give SI credit for their wins so far and their only loss is to SRV….

Hard to put ST Mary’s in the top 5 when they lost to a team that PITT, Rocklin and Modesto CC all Boat-raced…..

But I really like SM so in my Poll they get the benefit of the doubt…. 🤣

Hopefully we get to see Folsom vs ST Mary’s in the SJS Playoffs…..

What about SI?….. They have wins that are as good as PITT and DLS, They Beat a Team that Folsom lost too and their only loss it to SRV and it was a close game until the end…..

I don’t see how SI can be left out at this point right now….

I forgot about SI

Yes they belong with 2 wins over teams that was in the in the top 25 in California rankings by Max preps. cchs and serra (serra was top 13)

Yup they right there 3 or 4

I think they need to start games faster so they don't have to come back by so much late

But they did what they had too I put them over st Mary at 4

The reality in Nor Cal is that there are some teams playing really good football right now….. I mean in SI and SM played right now, that would be like a 1 pointer for me in the Pick’em and I am not sure who I would even pick…..

This year will be yet another example of why it’s time to end “The Folsom Rule” and have an Open Play in game to Crown Nor Cal’s Top Team…..

It’s such a Shame that a Committee will Chose the Best team in Nor Cal when we could play it out on the field if everyone really wanted to…..

Yes I have to give SI credit. They definitely have showed up and probably won more games that they weren't supposed to (per rankings) than anyone in NorCal so I would put them up there.

That said I'm just not sold on Serra so not sure how good that win will be at end of year. That cathedral catholic win was huge and seems to be there best win in my opinion.

Finally got around to watching this game. Amused by the London NFL Academy Head Coach Steve Hagen, stating they "rode in the bus an hour long, a really long time." I think he was trying to set the tone that this was not a home game for NFL Academy. But when you compare an hour long bus ride to an 11 hour flight plus an hour bus ride, it sounds Coach Hagen is grasping for the underdog position.

Looks like the NFL Academy is not ready for the running game or the DLS run defense. The game was fast and DLS dominated all levels of the game. I sort of expected NFL Academy to have a higher caliber of player. But as it turns out, they were not ready. Maybe it was because the fact the NFL-A only played a few games.

My Top 5 Nor Cal teams as of right are

1. DLS Dominant so far besides the Sm game By far the best team in the North
2. Folsom even though they’re been a disappointment this season as of now
3. Pittsburg I have to see Pit finally beat the bulldogs to be ahead of them
4. SRV Solid Team everywhere really no weaknesses
5. SM Explosive offense improving defense scary team to meet in the playoffs

Great Observation!….. I figured that DLS would win this game by double digits because there was no way the London team would be prepared for the Speed and Power of this years DLS Veer….

This DLS QB is a 3 year starter and runs this Veer as good as any QB for DLS ever has, if he could hit on 6 of 10 passes this would go down as one of DLS’s best offenses ever….. The O-Line is excellent and the rotation of backs are explosive and powerful…

Although the defense scares me I am starting to feel like DLS will come out and dominate SRV…. It will all depend on how the Spartans OLine can handle Marco Jones…..

I think PITT is the team that could be real trouble for DLS…. Their offense is so good and DLS’s weak spot is the defensive back 7…..
