Their is absolutely no respect for DLS. Max preps does not even rank them let alone cover what they are doing. All max preps does is hale to Chino Hills. I think that DLS will slow game down spread the court and minimize the possessions of Chino. The only way they can come close.
Well, the ultimate Chino Hills bad luck charm is.... Me.
I personally saw them play at Damien last year, and they lost. I personally saw they play SRV last year, and they lost. And those are the only times I saw CH in person. I'll be there at Sleep Barn on Saturday so that they can lose to DLS! .
On s side note how much is parking at sleep train (Arco) and is tailgating allowed????
Guys, lets get creative. DLS has to do something gimmick in this one. You have to take a risk and hedge somebody. Let say playing off Lonzo and let him shot 25 footers? He can beat you off the dribble so easy and hit his little brothers who I think are better natural shooters. I've seen Lonzo bomb in games but he's a volume shooter, but I still don't think I would consider him a 3pt shooter. Take a risk here. It could totally backfire. I've been watching the state games for 20+ years and 2 players shot the ball extremely well in Arco that I recall. One is Klay Thompson when he played for Santa Margarita HS. Klay is arguably one of the best shooters on the planet. The next guy is Katin Reinhardt from Mater Dei. He is a great shooter as well. Tough to shoot in that gym. But doing what everybody else is doing aint going to work. These guys cherry pick to death so DLS is going to get looks.
Twitter- I think you are being funny. DLS will not be held to 42. Chino will give up points. They just know they will outscore you.
Also Udenyi is going to have to shoot that FT line extended shot. Teams just sag so much on him. He's got to keep them honest.
thanks concrete$15 for car unless your driver brings you in your limo ($30)
Tailgating allowed in your space (no 2nd, extra space next to your car), no alcohol, no glass bottles, take your BBQ coals home with you. Sleep Train prefers tailgating in green areas around parking.
Mussleman, for Monte Vista so lights out against Corona Centennial. Think Klay and Mussleman are exceptions. Because of family they had been shooting in arenas all their lives.
No way Chino Hills drops 100 points on DLS[/QUOTEA
No way Chino Hills drops 100 points on DLS
Match ups:
Lonzo - Ratinho
Liangelo - Peters
LaMelo - O'Dea or Orr
? - Udenyi
? - Marcuck
Pretty good match ups: advantage chino on athleticism, but DLS may have more disapline. DLS has to slow game down and use the whole shot clock and minimize possessions for Chino.
The only way De La Salle stands a chance is if Chino struggles to shoot the ball in a NBA arena. I have seen teams struggle time after time. Remember when that Sheldon squad was supposed to roll Mitty but got smacked by 20 in 2013? Grant it the Spartans don't have AG, but no one gave Mitty a chance. I say they keep it close for three quarters and Chino wears them down in the 4th for a 10 point win.I think Reinhardt had 6 3's. Trevor John was amazing as well. His came mainly within a 5 or 6 min span if I recall.
I don't ever recall Jason Kapono playing for a state title. He went to Artesia I know that.
In any event all of these guys you are mentioning shoot the ball better than Lonzo does. A lot better. Major weakness per NBA scouting report.
"-Extremely unique shooting mechanics. Releases the ball from the left side of his body, well below his head. Shoots across his body. Easy to contest" You gotta do something if you are DLS. I wouldn't let the younger guys get looks. They shoot it really well especially Liangelo. DLS has really good size at the guard position. Physically Peters and Ratinho match up well at least in terms of length and weight.
This should be a lot of fun... When is the last time a consensus #1 team in the nation has played for a calif title? Was it Mater Dei or one of the Westchester/Dominguez teams?
