DLS vs Chino?

De La Salle will be the best defensive team Chino Hills has played all year. I'll go out on a limb and say De La Salle will frustrate Lonzo Ball, get him in foul trouble, and keep it close. De La Salle 60 Chino Hills 59. Upset of the year. Their going to need lights out shooting to make it happen, but never underestimate great defense, and never underestimate De La Salle. Hey it's the state championship. Anything can happen.

I have seen both teams play in person a couple of times this year. De La Salle has to make shots, Drive to the basket and make Chino Hills go their bench due to players in foul trouble. If that happens, the game will be close. If not chino Hills will win by at least 30.

Chino 98- Bishop Gorman 81
Gorman 71 - DlS 59
Also Chino doesnt need to shoot 3's in a big venue to win. They were only 6-14 of 3's against Bishop Montgomery and still had 84 points including 56 second half points. They have shot 45 or more 3's on 3 occassions.

I watched that Gorman game. DLS had the lead going into the 4th and Gorman went nuts in the final 5 minutes. They were unstoppable and DLS stopped hitting shots. I wouldn't look into one common opponent.

Early this year I said DLS had a chance "IF" Asiasi returned and played hoops. Well he didn't return and DLS continues to win. Hats off to those kids who have stuck together and developed as great teammates. I keep saying it. DLS will do something gimmick in this one. Play with 4 on offense and keep one guy at half court.? Look for something Chino hasn't seen before. It may completely backfire. Who knows. But they have nothing to lose and Chino has everything too. With the exception of Bishop Montgomery who Chino almost lost to in the first game this will be best defensive and coached team Chino has faced.

Who's going? Don't be a cheapskate. This one is going to be special. And its the state finals.... I've seen "EVERYTHING" happen before there. Its where memories are made and records are broken.

Larry go ahead and bring your 3 boys, 15 to to park, 16 admission and 30 for the boys. Thats 61 dollars to enter. Add 4 dogs 24, 4 sodas 20, and 4 popcorns another 20 . 125 dollars for a high school game . I think not. ill go to the local sports bar get a pitcher of brew and a burger ,watch on the big screen, and call it a day.

Keeping one guy at half court won't help cause you will get destroyed 2 on 1 by the 2 ball brothers who cherry pick. Teams that have multiple shooters like Montgomery are the only ones who have a chance . I don't believe DLS has that personnel.

Parking $15
2 game tickets $34
2 king dogs a bucket of popcorn and 2 sodas $way too much!

Watching it home - priceless

Chino 64 DLS 58

Coaching matters. DLS slows them down and controls tempo. Chino doesn't get to take the volume of shots they are used to. DLS shortens the game. Chino still wins but much closer and low scoring than most think.

It looks like CH's would be a 20+ point favorite based who they played and offense and defense. It seems DLS can slow the game way down, but it will be a huge task to keep CHs at around 70 and DLS maybe can get to 60. Let's say, If there wasn't a shot clock, I would say DLS could take a radical approach and really keep the score down and frustrate CH, but 35 seconds means CH probably scores in the 70s unless there are countless turnovers and misses. DLS will need to score on offense as well and it looks like CHs defense tends to keep the other team around 10 points below their average (just an observation). In any event, DLS will need to play a perfect game on defense and offense and take lots of time off to win this one. I think CHs probably scores in the mid to high 70s and wins by 10. I would love to see the Spartans win this one and have my fingers crossed, but got to go with CHs at 75-65 (in that area).

DLS better bring the balls that go in the basket, The players that have baskeball shoes on, and individuals that have played the game

All the DLS guys are talking about coaching. Well Frank is gone gone gone. Maybe they invite him back as an advisor which may close the 30 point beatdown to 20.
Lets face it Chino is very Battle tested. They won the prestigious City of Palms. They beat The #2 team in Nation And #1 in Florida Monteverde , #2 in North Carolina HPC twice, #4 In NJ Patrick school, New York overall state Champion Jefferson, #2 Nevada Bishop Gorman. Lets not forget about the Southern Cal gauntlet Of Bishop Montgomery, Redondo Union, Foothills Christian , Sierra Canyon ,Etiwanda etc etc.

Then add my favorite to this thread. They always talk about the coaching Staff for Mater Dei. Guess that helped a lot in the 50 point beatdown 102-54.

Dls has couple of ok wins but lots of cupcakes. They lost to the 2 best quality teams they played in Gorman and Centennial.

Anything can happen when the ball is rolled out but i just don't see it.

I wont make a bet on that. Chino is HOT. Anyone can stop any team...It just takes a heart and you have to show up

20 point victory. I actually thought the game would be a 30 point win for Chino Hills. De la Salle played a good first half. They made shots, went to the basket, and got the big man in foul trouble. I believe De la Salle simply ran out of gas, as most teams do against Cino Hills.

I turned the game on at half with DLS up 30-28 as I was tied up. Thought I'd see a close game, but something must have happened in the locker room as all I saw was Chino Hills domination the entire 2nd half. They sure looked as good as advertised.
