WiFi here is shaky, we’ll see what happens…

Watching the DV frosh tear a new one in Dublin at the moment,,, 29-13 DV early in the 2nd.

Dublin seems to have gotten a bit of a foothold, playing tougher, but it’s still 37-25 DV at the half.

Dublin causes a few turnovers, is getting closer, time out with 3:09 eft in the game…. 66-58 DV.

Dublin has the rock, down 67-62 with 48.4 left. THis is the closest they’ve been in a very long time.

Odffensive rebound, score, and 1 for Dublin, but a lane violations…. 67-64…. DV gets downcourt, fouled…. FT’s split…. Dublin races downcourt, fires. a 3…. GOOD! 68-67 Dublin, 15.7 seconds left, DV has it on their own end.

STEAL!!! Dublin lays it up, gets the lead, 69-69…. but they foul DV’s point guard, double bonus, he hits the first, MISSES the 2nd! Tied at 69, DV gets the ball across halfcourt, and DV commits a foul! 1.7 seconds left, Dublin’s #23 at the line. and… the DV coach (I think) gets a T…. Now #14 at the line for the T FT’s makes one of two.

#23 back to the line…. misses the first FT’s makes the 2nd…

They get it inbounds and run out the clock…. Dublin with an amazing comeback victory. 71-69 final.

And this was just the frosh game…

DV making a spirited comeback all of a sudden…. 56-53, Dublin still in front…. 1:36 left, Dublin ball.

Two near-steals by DV, but Dublin finally gets it inside, #24 fouled…. FT’s split. 57-53.

DV 3-ball goes up, bounces out, DV foul on the rebound. 57.9 seconds left, #2 at the line…. double bonus. first missed, 2nd good. 58-53..

DV gets quickly downcourt, missed shot is put back to make it 58-55 Dublin. 46.7 left.

Near-steal, but a foul called…. #25 Dublin hits the first FT, and the 2nd. 60-55 Dublin.

Great move by DV #24 to get within 3, and they foul immediately..

Dublin #10 hits a pair to get the lead up to 5…. DV races down and scores, but that’s the buzzer…. 62-59 final.

The place is packed…. Two great games to get the crowd all frothed up…

No better place to be on a Friday night! 13 minutes til varsity tip…

The game seesawed thru the first half, ending up 33-31 DV.

Beasley scored 16 in the first half for DV, Courtney Anderson jr. led Dublin with 9.

The Wildcats began to heat up in the mid-3rd quarter... Sevilla, who had been quiet the first half, quickly racked up 13 points, and DV led 48-38 with 3:53 left. DV's 6'7" big, Landon Edmond, got his 4th foul. He stayed in as DVs coach rolled the dice with his senior center. That gamble would prove to be a winner, as Edmond had a couple of big blocks and numerous rebounds down the stretch to help the Wildcats' cause.

The time out didn't seem to help things, and Dublin called another with 1:06 left in the 3rd, down 55-42.

They did manage a bucket before the 2rd ended, but it was 55-44.

Things didn't get better for Dublin in the 4th quarter, and DV couldn't be stopped.

Beasley scored 27, Sevilla 24 as the Wildcats won the top seed in next week's league tourney, 80-65.

I believe Anderson ended up with 23 for Dublin.

Well... Aidan is, after all... a "Tough Kid From The Back Alleys Of Moraga"!!

Seriously, that was truly amazing...

Nice to see Logan Johnson succeed there as well. Watched him quite a bit when he played for St Francis (WCAL). Super athletic lefty. Brother of Tyler Johnson (former Heat now playing in Australia).

The youngest Johnson brother Gabe was a reserve on Campo’s team last season, teammates with both Aidan and Cade Bennett. That team had a distinct SMC flavor to it, and the entire Gaels team would show up to games in support of Coach Bennett and Logan to watch Cade, Gabe & future Gael Aidan.
