Big game this week as dublin goes to dela to decide who is the top
dog in the EBAL any predictions Is the game still at dela?

A month ago I would have said Dublin but DLS could be the hottest team in Norcal since Xmas. I like DLS in a close one and I believe its still at home. DLS 50 and Dublin 47

I will go with Dublin, but game will be single digits throughout. I think the guards of Dublin will win out down the stretch.

Should be a great atmosphere.

DLS is great on D. They held Harvard Westlake to 41 pts. If they keep the game in that 40-50 range I think that they win. That is there style. Should be fun.

I'm taking Timmy Falls and Co!!! Coach Derek H. Omo is truly one of the best in the region. He know the game. Never seen a better corner 3 pt shooting team in my life. Roll Gaels!!!

Dublin by 12 if Falls doesn't try to do too much.

You can't use the Harvard game as a gauge. 6-7 Alabama commit Johnny Juzang did not play . In Palm Springs he had 12 and 12 vs Sheldon , 19 and 6 vs Woodcreek and 18& 15 vs Capital. He would have more than made up the difference in 43-41 game

Should be a great game on Thursday…as well as deciding the #1 Seed in NCS D1. Dublin has been held below 60 once this year (59 by Amador in their 1st game). Low scoring, yes, but only in comparison. Dublin doesn’t want to play Defense. They want to get the ball and go. DLS will beat Costello’s 2-2-1 press and 2-1-2 trap and score easily. They will have wide open 3’s all night long. If Beasley is still out, I see DLS winning by 4. Dublin just doesn’t have the discipline and patience at this point. DLS 65-61

I watched DLS, Harvard Westlake, Capital, Odowd, Salesian, and Bosco play at MLK and DLS was as impressive as any of those teams. They D up one of the best Soph in the nation. Timmy Falls is a nice player but he's not Cassius Stanley. DLS is 8-0 since Xmas. Very confident team right now. Home game. I like the Spartans.

I to was impressed with dela's win against Harvard Westlake they really defended well
and executed when they needed to but having seen dublin's only loss to woodcreek go down to the wire
in gridley and actually outplayed them much of that game i am going with dublin by 5.
They are more then falls, Houston and Neilson are good players who can score as well.
Dela can defend but they are going to need multiple players to come up with strong
offensive nights dublin 59 to 54

DLS will find a way... Sparty by 4. I'll be there: already have my ticket.

Ha ha... Togos likes it pains you. Back in the day that would be a treat to watch a WCAL game. I think game is to big for Dublin as well. Home game at DLS. You aren't winning there.

Dublin will win and here are a few reasons why.
* Costello is one of the best coaches around and is right up there with Jones in the EBAL.
* Dublin is well balanced and can play different styles of basketball.
* Dublin does lack a tough defense but I think because they want to push tempo and run, they do give up a few points but in a half court game, they can be as hard to score on as anyone.
* Well balanced, they can score inside as well as outside, they press and trap as well as anyone and convert those turnovers into points.
* They are deep and if Beasley is healthy, they play 10 deep and with they drop-off isn't much at all.
* Great coaching staff
* Possibly the league MVP playing as well as I have ever seen him. Timmy Falls is a true leader and has taken his game to the next level.

Didn't De La Salle just barely beat Dougherty they other night? Hopefully that was a wake up call and not a showing of things to come in the grind of a season known as the EBAL.

De La Salle will pose it's problem, no doubt about it. They throw scores at you just like Dublin does but if Dougherty can throw you off your game, what do you think Dublin will do to you?

Dublin by double digits.

Dublin's loss came to a very good Wood Creek. This game will be close and fun to watch. DLS wins by a few.

Dublin by double digits.
I am taking all three bets:

DLS Plus the 10 (Double Digits)
DLS to win on the money line +220
Costello to get a T (10-1)

Total investment is $300 - max payout is $1320 (I need the T though)

Who is in?

I am cheering for a great game, never want anyone to get a T and I hope both teams play there hearts out.

I'm thinking this is a toss up and look for a close game.

Dublin might be the favorite at home or on a neutral floor, but winning at Winton ain't easy.

Does anyone know how the EBAL playoffs will work this year? Does the winner of the South (Dublin) play the winner of the North (DLS), or do the division winners play the runners up of the other division and then the winners meet in the finals? This might just be the first of several meetings between these two teams.

I hope Dublin doesn't look past a well coached Monte Vista team. MV has the ingredients to pull an upset at Home. Closer game than people think. Under 10pts.

No way in hell will DLS loose to Dublin. At home! I say DLS pulls away at end and wins by 10. DLS plays defense.. Dublin has not played anyone that plays d like DLS does.

We will see tonight. Should be a good game. Both teams have been playing well.

Well-played game... Dublin showed that they could indeed play defense, just not quite as well as DLS... At least not tonight.

Seeing Dublin's Tim Falls was well worth the price of admission

Surprised the game wasn't sold out
Had 2 extra tickets which I gave away to a father and young son in a Warriors jersey who was attending his first basketball game

I was surprised, too... sorta. DLS is such a football school, though... Add in that many of their students and parents live down the 680 corridor and northbound traffic on that truly sucks, and ya got a half-full gym... At least this was more like 80% full... Of course, if this had been a longtime rival like MV, it would have gotten much more full.

I was talking to the lady at the entrance about how great it was to have the Prepmo online tix service now, and in the convo she mentioned that the sellout games happen almost completely due to high sales to the visitors.

Back to the game... It was a game of runs in the first half; DLS got in front 8-2 midway thru the first q, but Dublin scored 10 straight to go in front 12-8 with a couple minutes gone in the 2nd q. Then it was Sparty's turn for a run, a big one... 13 straight to end the half up 21-12.

DLS drew away a bit further in the 3rd q (maybe 12 or so) before Dublin began to chip into the lead. The Gaels actually had the ball with a chance to tie near the end, but the Spartans held 'em off.

Told you DLS would win. They are playing some of the best hoops in NorCal right now. On any given night I wouldn't want to play them.

I picked them to win a close game at home tonight, which they did. They jumped out to any early lead, and were up double figures much of the 2nd half but let the Gaels get to within 2 in the final minute before closing it out with a huge late 3 from Pratt.

If these teams face each other again in the playoffs, Dublin super frosh Beasley might be back in the lineup as he has missed the entire EBAL season thus far with a broken hand.

Great high school game by two solid teams they definitely are on a collision
Course to meet again in the league championship as they are clearly the two best
teams in the ebal.Dela defended there tails off
and made dublin work to score the 12 point first half did dublin in. Dela made
some big shots at critical points in the game to secure a well earned victory

DLS is not the same team as they were before xmas time. This is a confident team playing some of the best basketball in norcal. I've caught a couple of there games (I missed this one) and the improvement has been remarkable. Another example of the team without the best players on the court winning.

Surprised at Dublins lack of outside shooting.
Surprised at the number of transition points Dublin was able to score.
DLS looked much more balanced than Dublin.

According to the Stephens article, the EBAL championship game will be held at Dublin, and the Gaels should have their leading scorer Beasley back soon.

@ Home and Beasley's return will definitely take these meetings up to more intense level.
Felt most of last night's matchup was a pretty high energy level. If the last 3-5 minutes were any indication of how these 2 teams pick up where they left off we're going to see some pretty exciting play. It will be interesting to see how Coaches Argenal and Costello adjust to what they saw in last night's meeting.

IF they get beasley back and he is healthy watch out I still say dublin presents
The biggest challenge to woodcreek in terms of match ups.

No way Dublin beats DLS next time. With or without whoever they have coming back. DLS culture will prevail, they know how to handle big games. Sorry but, when was the last time Dublin ever won anything let alone a big game?

Dublin presents little challenge to woodcreek. Dublin is a tier lower.
Agree NS.
