Earth to DLS..........

Poor coaching by Alumbaugh in certain situations. Asiasi is one of their best players. At 6'5 270 perhaps he should have taken some snaps and given Trinity a taste of their own "Natee" medicine and then some. Or at least try to get him the ball. Geez. The guy is a mismatch for any team.

IMO this proves the chink in the armor is Alumbaugh. DLS is still one of the best programs in CA but a step below the program that won 150 straight games. Maybe Pitt nips them this year?

No, Pitt aint that good.

Change that to "A few DLS fans" and you have something.

The team and staff work waaaay too hard to represent your statement.

Actually, I meant to say DLS fans. I believe there are programs in Nor Cal that work just as hard but have little to no prayer of ever beating DLS.

The DLS playcalling looked okay to me, it was a winnable game plan. Trinity however also had good playcalling and a winnable game plan, and they executed theirs better.

As long as DLS plays a team from No Cal, winning every week is definitely a birth right.

"Arrogance is a killer. Literally."

Based on what I saw the other night, wins over Norcal teams are no longer a birth right. Especially if you can't tackle or throw.

On any given Friday night...

Based on what I've seen for a quarter century, the DLS wins over Norcal teams are definitely a birth right!. How does DLS do it? How do they continue to absolutely dominate every team in Norcal for decades? It's hilarious!!!

It's called hard work, tradition, coaching and most of all a huge talent advantage.

Lay off the DLS rhetoric...We all get it. Pump up and bang on your chest!

Nobody is perfect, hence Friday night. Enjoy what you have but don't gloat. Hard work, tradition, coaching, and talent will not win you EVERY game because there is always someone better.

As I said before, arrogance is a killer, literally.

Did you watch the reaction of the kids and parents of DLS on Friday night? Look closely... ;)

It's just ONE loss. Not a big deal. ;)

I used the term "literally" in the sense that most of you are coming on here and basically professing the death of football in CA, over one DLS loss. Get real. That is why I said, "arrogance is a killer."

I hope you understand now. You also may want to spell check. "Me thinks you don't understand," is not exactly proper grammar ;)

So, if CA football is not really dead, then "arrogance" must not be the killer you speak of. Yes, DLS just needs to play teams in Norcal to remain undefeated.

If they tackle anything like they did on Friday night, against Norcal teams, they are in trouble ;)

Remember, it is the year 2015. It is OK to have a quarterback that can throw the ball 10 years down the field ;);););)

DLS has small (but talented) linebackers as well as several undersized (but talented) O Linemen. Does anyone else feel the size of Trinity on both sides of the ball may have wore down DLS?

DLS is one of the best conditioned teams, year in and year out.

I just think they were overwhelmed by the physicality of Trinity. Texas plays another brand of football.

De La Salle lost. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. The De La Salle fans know it, everyone else knows it. There is a whole season left. Lots of games to win and they know they aren't immune to losing. Sure makes the talk more interesting each week when we know they can lose!

Did anyone else notice that Tagaloa and Wiley didn't appear on the offensive line until the fourth quarter?
Good point G61. Having traveled to Austin to participate in USA Football the past two years, they really do play a different brand of football.

Bubba - was that due to injury or that DLS needed more beef on the O Line?

That is typical for DLS. DLS two way players are more like 1.5 way players. Same thing was done with Boss/Wiley last year. Grant Jones and Josh Wallunas play for Boss and Wiley on the o line allowing those two more time on the D line. They both did a great job too.

DLS was every bit as physical as Trinity. The difference in this game was execution. Trinity executed better.

There'd certainly be a different tone to posts if the personnel were reversed on the lateral/option pass. Why the WR was route runner instead of throwing it is a head scratcher. 16 should've been the downfield HUGE target and last years backup QB throwing it, with almost-certain more accuracy. That worked against Aquinas (the only deLA points) as a very accurate baseball pitcher made that throw.

Yes GB,I absolutely feel Trinity size wore down DLS as the game wore on.You could see their tackling fundamentals deteriorating later in the game. And with a team as well coached and fundamentally sound as DLS that's a sure sign of fatigue.
