Travis Barker has resigned as Head Football Coach at East Nicolaus HS. The Spartans are coming off a 13-2 season and have won 5 consecutive CIF Northern Section D4 championships. He also has a CIF 6AA state title with the Spartans back in 2015. During his 6 years as head coach at East Nic he compiled an overall record of 73-10. He will remain with the school and keep his teaching position. The school has already begun it's search for his successor.

To those in the Northern Section, was there any hints this might happen?

I believe its been coming for a couple years now.
Coach Barker obviously has been a successful leader but it's Coach Neil Stinson that really makes that machine run. He is the OC of the team and has been since this great run started. I am not by any means diminishing Coach Barker and his role.

Just an FYI, Neil Stinson has also stepped down as Offensive Coordinator. He also will remain at the school in his roles as Vice Principal and Athletic Director.

I'm hoping Kramer Hagan, from Capital Christian and Portland State, is the front runner. He is currently a teacher on staff at EN.
