The much anticipated rematch between dublin and dela is set for Saturday
at dublin at 8 pm for the league title and a 1 seed for NCS d1

I like the match ups between Dublin and De La.

Both teams can shoot, both matchup in size, and both have players that can come off the bench and score.

Who do you have taking this game? Dublin coming for revenge? DLS enforcing their dominance?

I'd have to pick Dublin with Beasley back and playing at home, but it's certainly not a lock. The last time they played, it was a 1 pt game in the final minute, and I'd expect another barn burner tomorrow night.

It's hard to say too this or too much that when you are playing DLS. Dublin could win plus the have an advantage at home. DLS plays the best defense in NCS.

Dela was up early and controlling tempo. Dublin put some pressure and started trapping in second half that led to some turnovers. Beasley was the difference maker. He made some huge baskets late in the game. One on one he is almost impossible to keep away from the rim . Point guard for Dela was sensational and kept them in the game. 33 was shooting threes and driving to the basket.
Top two teams in NCS . Game 3 should be in the finals.

Described exactly the way I saw it... I second this 100%.

I lived streamed the second half on my periscope, yolybballbroadcast periscope name if you missed it

One he'll of a high school basketball game those two teams went toe to toe
with both teams making play after play.Robbie beasley is going to be some
kind of player to watch for the next 3 years his skill set is pretty damn
good kid can shoot it and get to the basket. Hats off to coach costello
and his players for taking home an EBAL title.

Great game in almost every way. The only exception was the scorekeeper who must have screwed up 6 or 7 times. The worst was Mis-counting the last Dublin shot in regulation as a 3-pointer, so when DLS had the ball for the last 10 seconds the scoreboard showed Dublin up 1 instead of a tie game. Most people thought Dublin won when DLS missed at the buzzer until the PA announcer stepped in and proclaimed it was going to overtime.

Beasley was a difference maker for sure. Congrats to coach Costello and the Gaels on their first EBAL championship since they were in that league in the mid 70s.

I editied your post slightly [in bold and brackets]. :)

That last scoring mishap confused everyone except thos on the floor... I was sitting there wondering why DLS was only "sort of" getting up the floor to try and get a decent shot when they were down by 1 as the clock closed on zero... Obviously they knew the situation better than the scoreboard operator did,

Interesting situation. No dog in the fight.

Looked up the EBAL standings and Dublin apparentlly lost 2 games.
DLS lost one none. Yet Dublin Is the EBAL champ?
Might be clearer to state DLS is the league champ and Dublin the league tourney champ=doesn't that make more sense.

Also note that the final tourney game was at Dublin even though DLS had a better record.
Sounds a bit weird and smells a bit fishy?
Who makes these rules up? Wouldn't DLS or a neutral site make more sense?

Would love to see a third game on a neutral site or at DLS.

It was not a round Robin league every team did not play everybody twice there was only
one meeting between the two schools which DLS won.DLS won the north division
and dublin won the south division they met up in the league finals and Dublin
won the title if they meet up in two weeks in the ncs finals it will most
likely be at a neutral site (st Mary's college)

Right. The standings on MaxPreps doesn't break out the 2 divisions, so it is easy to see how someone can get confused. Both teams knew in advance how the league champ would be determined. Nothing fishy.

The reason the finals were at Dublin is because it is bar far the best gym in the league, and the only one capable of holding the near capacity crowd that showed up last night. The girls' finals were also at Dublin, even though the Dublin girls were not involved. Good choice.

Well there are many neutral sites that could have been used with as much or more capacity--it doesn't need to be a high school gym.
Beyond this it gives the flavor of some sort of tourney as four teams were involved.

Would be cleaner if the winner of the north plays winner of the south.
Regardless it sounds as though both teams played well and there could be a rematch.

Sounds like a Lot of crying...... DLS had choice of being the Home Team and chose create chaos by wearing Home Colors, Home on Scoreboard and removing the selected game ball and replacing. Drama or Strategy?

More like "some" crying.....
Great matchup, loved the moves by Costello and 1st year coach Argenal,
hats off to players on both sides of the ball Saturday night.
My Spartans may not have passed the Duck Test but that shouldn't matter wherever the game was played. Just adds more interest to the next meeting.

Errr... "duck test"?

If swims like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it must be......

The whole "home" discussion......home colors, home scoreboard, home ball, etc. all that did not make the Dublin arena home for the Spartans. But I don't think the "home" location made an overwhelming difference in the game's outcome. Both teams are good as are their coaches. Can't wait for the next match up.

I may be wrong, but I think he was saying that all that Spartans choosing home colors, scoreboard, ball etc. contributed to the scorekeeper getting confused all night long, as opposed to it being some kind of advantage to DLS. I've seen both games so far, and both were close and exciting games, regardless of where they were played. If they play again at St. Mary's or some other place this year, I would expect another great game.

That's not exactly what I was saying but definitely like your version better.

On an earlier thread following the 1st meeting at DLS back in January I posted that it was going "to be interesting to see how Coaches Argenal and Costello adjust to what they saw in last night's meeting." Now that the teams have played each other twice the next meeting has the added dimension of how the players adjust to what they have seen playing one another......and Beasley will no longer be an unknown, though I would wager the 2 free Jumbo Jack coupons I recently got at a Warriors'game that he (Beasley) will super size his game a bit in the next meeting.
