Folsom vs. Cathedral Catholic for 1AA State Title

Since I would like to see NorCal win, I’ll do what I did last week and say that Cathedral should win easily.

In all seriousness, I do think Folsom could be primed for a let down — which would understandable — but it’s still hard to go against a hot team on a roll. And Folsom has certainly been on an unexpected roll.

Another thing to consider is Cathedral might have some extra motivation since they’ve not been able to beat the Bulldogs in a bowl game yet but came really close last time out. Kinda like Folsom v. DLS going into last week’s game.

It clearly says a “recent CIF rule” what’s hard to grasp here? CIF over sees the entire state, again what rule does SoCal benefit from that Norcal doesn’t? Please name it.
You didn't address the information presented. Can you refute?

My prediction is 52-21 CC. I’m hoping it’s the opposite but let’s face it Folsom is not very good. They are not playing any better then the first time they played DLS. For the first time in the 40+ years I’ve been around Bay Area HSFB DLS was worse in game 13 then they were in game one. And with all the penalties and turnovers and dropped intersections etc…. DLS still only lost by a couple inches. Honestly has any poster on here ever see such an absolute implosion by a DLS team at this point in the season? This is the first full year we have seen DLS new DC and his all new staff. I really do hope I’m wrong but unfortunately I’ve never been more sure that I’m right.
My personal opinion. DLS is #1 in NorCal until proven otherwise. And I would love to see them lose to a NorCal team in my lifetime as long as it’s NOT Folsom. But another side of me thinks it will be a sad day for NorCal football when it happens.

Not impressed with Folsom at all.

IMO if there is a set criteria then why does the Committee have to meet to decide who’s in. They should already know. All that aside we know Serra is in and now we have to watch Folsom take another beating by DLS. I personally would much rather seen DLS vs Serra or Folsom vs Serra. I don’t look at it as if DLS got screwed I feel it’s the other way around. Serra got screwed. NorCal is basically sending in a butter knife to a gun fight. At least with DLS it would be more like a machete to a gun fight.

I just want you to know I’m really going to miss you Pasty. NOT. Your a little strange but very entertaining. See ya next year with your new handle.

R.I.P. Pasty
Your predictions are comical at best. You must be reeling from that loss last week still.

We will engage again after Folsom wins they're 5th State Title.

That win versus DLS was simply put- the best.

I did, see above. Your articles you linked where from 2018,2019, and one from early 2020. It is damn near 2022. So why would truth address it.
So let me get this straight? It is 2021. This information is from a few years ago. You think MD has cleaned up its act since then? My god, they are currently under investigation for a hazing incident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury.

Are you serious? You people are insane.

Pasty nobody can deny that. We all already knew the history. Do you think your the only guy that read such articles back then. But if you are gonna act like a ass, blast a guy, then bring information to the table that speaks of present. Not a article that is going on four years old that we all read almost 4 years ago.

That’s comical and weak.

No, they are not under investigation. The Orange County DA has publicly said there is no evidence of hazing and views this situation as “mutual combat”, therefore, no investigation. MD is, however, facing a civil lawsuit from Player One.

Wrong. More evidence has surfaced including urinating in players' lockers unwilling to fight along with the beating two football players gave to a basketball player.

I guess we can use words as need be. But Mater Dei has hired outsiders to investigate the situation. But when it comes to criminal, you are correct, no investigation has been launched at all.

From what I know hazing in sports has faded out. Back in my high schools days we had a public in San Francisco with a serious incident. A broomstick was used to shove it up a player where the sun dont shine. Instead he was laid flat out and that broom slut is jewels in half. Major media and criminal no doubt.

do you have a article that they under criminal investigation. If that is the case then no way Mater Dei should even be playing this weekend

I have no problem calling them out, but they are NOT under criminal investigation. There is no “new evidence”. You are referencing a situation that happened in 2019 and was off campus. Sorry…

Yes, I was referring to the fact there is no criminal investigation at all. In fact, the DA specifically put out a press release saying, in his words, “not a shred of evidence” of hazing. The civil suit allegations are what everyone is reading and somehow think this is a criminal case.

Nothing to address no rules were broken.
LOL stop it.

If ANY school in NorCal (especially public...............Folsom), were using host families for "renta players," you'd be going ape shit and pointing the finger.

If you are going to be disingenuous, at least be honest about it.

BTW- That Folsom win sure stung eh? :)

Patsy they would love you in Texas. Every Texas powerhouse public as well in a few other states cry the same crap. The schools in Texas don’t have 20,000 seat stadiums cause year after year the kids just so happen to be raised in the neighborhood.

Personally I don’t know much about Folsom’s rosters over the last several years. But you noted this will be Folsom’s fifth state title if they win. If you think anybody who has watched public powers play on both the football field and basketball court over the last 25-30 years just so happen to have table talent vitamins for the kids in the surrounding area year after year after year. That’s downright hilarious.

You truly believe Folsom has been the best public school in the state of California for the last 10 years. Man must be some awesome genes in the families who all happen to have raised their kids in the same neighborhood.

Does a Mater Dei have a huge talent pool to pull from. No doubt. Look at the domination over the years by SO Cal at the state title games over the years. But take the public school league in San Francisco. Back in my day a school called Galileo ran off title after title and played a pretty strong non-league schedule for years. I believe their were a easy 10 programs at the time, but it just was a coincidence that the kids of Galileo who sent kids to big D1’s and a few to the NFL just all grew up in the same neighborhood.

This happened 30 years ago, and I know for a fact it happens in power public schools across this country just like privates. Maybe not at a Mater Dei level, St Bon’s level, etc……. But it happens. And everybody on this board who has been around high school sports for quite along time have always known it.

Patsy,
What channel is game on Tv?

Maybe I’m in minority but I see a hard fought game between CC and Folsom. Ultimately I think Folsom prevails by 7-10 pts. I just think they are peaking at right time. And for the record I’m not rooting for any SoCal teams.

Wrong I don’t care what Norcal schools do if it’s within the rules, and again which rules were broken? And what rules are different between Norcal and SoCal? I thought CIF had everybody playing under the same umbrella or rules. Again please give the link to the rule differences? I will say the only thing I hate about Norcal is the inferiority complex and the constant excuse making about transfers, privates, etc……grow a set and play ball, sports have winners and losers Simple as that.

Oh you care. You care more than anyone else on this board. A majority of your posts are the same hateristic approach. Loser status.

The only one with an inferiority complex is you and its painfully obvious.

Enjoy the 5th title tonight. I can't wait. :)

Did you just tell a guy a majority of his posts are a hateristic approach loser status. YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING US. Any chance you looked in the mirror when you wrote this. WOW. I have seen it all.

De La Salle hosts one of the best preseason basketball tournaments every year. Rumor in the street is they changed the time of their second round game so they can shower and attend the football game and laugh at you.
Speaking of a loser status post. See above at your post from last week.

Who's laughing now? :)

Fun fact I just came across. Cathedral Catholic qb Charlie Mirer, is son of former Notre Dame and NFL QB Rick Mirer. I was a big ND fan growing up.

You know you got me on that one, but a larger loser status is saying the bowl game was meaningless, whatever word you used and now your screaming 5th title, and your excuse of I was just mocking De La Salle was pathetic. You yourself didn’t think they would lose so you made spun it to a not a big deal scenario. On that note you make us laugh every post. Especially when you got maybe covid and disappeared after all that non haterism the first time both teams met. You are a loser bro, face it. Folsom is the only winner

What’s up Pasty, you ain’t got no faith in em?

You tell Thee Folsom Confidential to talk money and he tucks his tail smh

Folsom dodged a bullet late 2nd quarter with bad time management and play calling by CC [IMO].
So by no means an "out of hand game" and RB Lucky Sutton had the one big run that did some damage. If Folsom can make adjustments and contain the CC run game & limit 1rst downs and also get theirpassing game in sync then a new game in 2nd 1/2. We'll see...

Nah, it’s over.

One thing no one has mentioned is that De La Salle played about as sloppily as they’ve ever played last week. 16 penalties had nothing to do with Folsom and everything to do with De La Salle.
