According to Joe Davidson's twitter account, here is Folsom's schedule. Dates weren't included;

Clayton Valley Charter
Clovis North
Pleasant Grove
Burbank

For the NCS guys, is CVC returning much from last year's team? How good are they expected to be?

Thunderram......Without Miles Harrison, CVC looses 50% of their offense, a number of their big linemen have grad., but they have a large team in numbers to work with and a pretty good JV team to feed off, but they won't be the power house like they were in 2014, so right now its hard to say what kind of shape the Eagles will be in....The Folsom-CVC game could be real interesting as both team have a lot of work to do....

They have some recruits that were ineligible last year that if eligible this year could make a difference. And who knows how many transfers there are waiting in the wings for next year after how well they did this season. But not only the football program (which is on double secret probation for 2 years), but the school itself is in chaos. If things don't calm down on Alberta Way, the whole Charter school thing could go by the wayside.

Investigations at CVC

Underwhelming schedule to say the least. Too bad Folsom refuses to follow coach Taylor's lead on non league scheduling

It would have been fitting for a program of Folsom's stature to have scheduled one PAC 5 opponent, one WCAL upper tier team, CVC is OK and one local scrub SJS team

It appears Folsom's primary goal continues to be producing 5,000 yard QB's.

As Dick Vitale says….. Cupcake city. Cardinal Newman who is D3 plays a harder schedule. Common Folsom. Step it up.

GUYS........Take the time to read OBSERVER22's post including all the information that was printed in the CC times, how this reflects on the CVC football is hard to say, but there could be some real changes by the end of the school year.

I don't know how even the most ardent Folsom supporter can defend their non-league scheduling. Cathedral is really the only time they've stepped outside the section to challenge themselves. Deer Valley and SRV weren't bad games, but they should be doing exactly what Del Oro, GB and Grant have done in recent years. PAC-5, WCAL, DLS, and/or a respected OOS program such as Chandler, Bellevue, or Bishop Gorman.

Do it already.

Why should they schedule I really strong non league schedule? What's the benefit to them? It isn't like they have anything to prove to anyone. I'm pretty sure they proved that they are up there with the best teams in the state with there dismantling of Oceanside. Throw in the fact that they typically play in one of the strongest sectional playoffs in the state. Should they be scheduling these teams to prove they belong with DLS? The reality is that most years they don't and that is not a knock on Folsom, it is more of a testament to how great of a program DLS is.

I like the CVC game, but the rest of the schedule seems light. Does anyone know what Clovis North brings back?

One thing that is tough for any SJS team is you may not want to play a team you can see in the playoffs again and in Folsom's case, you are right on the bubble of the D1/D2 enrollment bubble.

That schedule looks like a true National Power OOC schedule!!! Folsom really deciding to challenge themselves this year

I could be wrong but I thought Pleasant Grove was the school from Utah and not Elk Grove. Again, I could be wrong but that would change things.

If we are comparing Pleasant Grove Utah to a local team from this years rankings, they are roughly equivalent to Freedom High in Brentwood.

mistark - Pleasant Grove is a Utah team that has been seeking a game in California. Could be the Elk Grove team too... good catch

Because the kids and coaches should want to challenge themselves. They all work their asses off in the off season to be in that upper tier of CA programs and they should want to compete vs the tier they are in. The Folsom players admitted that playing DLS resulted in them working harder. Playing great competition improves your program.

One season does not mean Folsom can rest on their laurels.

Pretty sure G61 will try.

Del Oro is playing the Utah team. Folsom's nonleague schedule does seem light, but probably not an elite Folsom team. They win their section and they get in the playoffs and prove it there. They don't seem like an Open Division team next year so no reason to play an elite schedule. Would like to see them playing a tougher nonleague schedule but it is what it is. Will be interesting to see them in the SFL this year. Should be a more competitive year in the league.

Clayton Valley will be good, but not as good as last season. They will be missing a special RB. Offense will probably be a level below last season although they return their QB (Keisel) and should have good lines (a few big kids on the line). Not elite for their size of school next season, but good. They do have some talent though and that ball control offense is a good defense. Talk about a game of contrasting offensive styles. I think they are the type of team that can give a Folsom problems if they can churn the clock. Still think Folsom will win this one. Not sure CVC defense will stop that offense. Folsom seems to reload at QB and while not an elite one next season, still probably very good at running that offense.

Clovis North will be losing lots of talent, but a big school and tend to reload the talent. Should be a better game than last season but probably more to Folsom talent loss and also them facing that passing offense for a second time. Don't believe they are favored in their league.

It amazes me how Folsom wins a State Title and gets a ton of attention, and all the DLS homers get on here and bash them. Elite prorgram? Maybe...lately. They were the most dominant team in CA last year, possibly the history of CA.

As for next year's schedule. Hard to say unless your a coach...They may have reached out to teams who didn't want to play them for whatever reason. They should be good next year, but not elite...Dont forget, they are a public school, they will have up and down years like everyone else.

With all of that said, that takes NOTHING away from what they did this past season. They dominated EVERY opponent on the schedule. STILL...people say they played nobody. Well, I attended those games...MANY of those teams were extremely good, included a previously undefeated Oceanside team. Everyone seems to forget that Folsom could have put 100 points on many good opponents...rarely did starters ever play the 4th quarter, and sometimes even part of the 3rd quarter.

2014 STATE CHAMPS!!!!

Props to Sutter. For years guys up that way have been telling us about their brand of ball and over the last few season they have searched high and low for opponents to prove it. Win, lose or draw good for them!

CVC will be better at RB next year if Ray Jackson, the College Park transfer, ever plays for them. While Harrison was bigger, Jackson can absolutely fly and could be a 3,000 yard rusher in that system.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Folsom's schedule, they're just not a national level team as far as travel games are concerned. As far as a Nor Cal schedule it's pretty good IMO. I'd like to see them play a WCAL team in the future.

MSHNASTY.......I for got about Ray Jackson, you are right, this guy can fly....of course this could mean bad times for many teams if Jackson starts and if he gets the blocking....

G61: the most dominant team in Calif history? There are at least 20-25 teams in the history of California hs fb that were considerably better than Folsom. They still have to live with the thrashing two years in a row by DLS. Remember, if DLS had left their first string in the entire games, what do they score, maybe 80-90 points vs Folsom.

Interesting that Sacramento posters are also weighing in on the VERY WEAK schedule Folsom will have in 2015. I was hoping they would step it up but looks like they will be just another team who is afraid to take on a challenge. I would not rank them in the top 25 state wide to start the 2015 season.

Folsom played NOBODY in 2014, including an overrated Oceanside.

DLS 56-28 if they had played Folsom in the Open play in game as in the two previous years.

Folsom didn't win the state championship last year. They won the consolation prize.

Folsom fans have got to be the most delusional people on the planet. At the game in Carson, a Folsom guy tried to tell me that it was only the 4th time that Browner had played in the 4th quarter all year. I told him "This is my second Folsom game this year and he played well into the 4th in the other game, too" The guy replies, "Oh, then this must be the 5th."

WTF?

First off, its not "Browner" it is Browning. This proves by point about you Bay Area homers, and not even knowing anything about Folsom team other than this forum.

And mtnjohn,
Glad you came back for another thrashing. Folsom would have beaten DLS 42-21 this year if DLS hadn't avoided them when Folsom called. Face it, I own you
laugh.r191677.gif

ANY team Folsom played this year would have been a COMPLETE THRASHING. And after EVERY game, ALL OF YOU would say that the team they played was overrated. Time to give credit where credit is due.

Folsom= 2014 STATE CHAMPS!!!

Cal 14 knew so much about Folsom that he didn't even know the QBs last name! LOL

Keep in mind, this is a QB that set the state and national passing record this past season. The fact that you don't even know his correct last name proves a lot. COMPLETE HOMER!
uzi.r191677.gif

G61, when attempting to slam someone you may want to avoid typo's like "firts".

I guess it takes a homer to know one... Mission San Jose High School would have beat Folsom 45-28 this year, I don't need any proof or facts to back up my opinion just know that it would have happened. After all it was their best season in years so that makes them sooooo awesome.

Jackson is fast. Has high upside. I think Harrison had great vision and a low and slashing style RB and also tough to tackle. Seems Jackson stands more straight up but also has a nice first cut and if he gets space a big threat to take t to the bank. I think he has work to do to be at Harrison level as a RB. He is faster, but Harrison has great cuts and a bull and while not a burner has football speed. If I had both on my team I would have Harrison at RB and Jackson at a Wing or slot or wide out. He also looks like he also is a very good DB which could be where he ends up in college. Will be interesting to see if he plays and how he develops. He does have high upside.

NorCalSportsFan........Just imagine if Jackson and Harrison would have been the same back field, what a one-two punch that would have been....If Jackson starts for CVC, plus what ever else comes out of the wood work, I may be eating my wirds, in any case, 2015 is beginning to shape up....

Someone actually came on here, tried to talk trash about Folsom, yet didn't even know the name of the QB that set the state AND national passing record this season! LOL

Can you imagine if someone on DLS set that record? You would all be on here bending over
laugh.r191677.gif

Total homers

Mtnjohn,
Where you at playa!?
Everybody makes typos. "Firts". Cal14 has forgotten more California hsfb than you will ever know. Lets hear about Folsom this year and what they have coming back and how you expect them to end up. Pretty sure we will not hear much from you a few weeks into the season. Oh wait never mind forgot about the weak preseason schedule so maybe we have to wait till league for you to run away.

What is so funny to me is how popular the Folsom threads are on here. All of you Bay Area homers just go ballastic when anyone mentions Folsom. It gets even worse if someone mentions 2014 State Title.

I am actually honored by how angered this makes all of you.

By the way- Folsom, 2014 STATE CHAMPS!!!
uzi.r191677.gif

You know you are on top (at the moment) when the best dig at you is "your preseason sucks!"

LOL HOMERS!!!
uzi.r191677.gif

I actually dig Folsom the town. Use to live in Folsom Ranch for a year or so. Just not sold on the football team as anything more than second place. Silver medal winner in Cali.

You obviously did not attend a game this year...

If you did, you wouldn't be posting like this. If you attended a game, name which one
