Foothill-Freedom updates

Foothill is up 21-0 at halftime. Two short TD runs for Floyd. Falcons looks like I expected them too. Experienced group that is well coached. Looks like Matt Gates is out though.

Freedom has a good back in Rivers, but not much else on offense. They have given Foothill two short fields and Rivers had one of his two fumbles going in for a score.

Couple of Thoughts from the game:

Ben Wooldridge is going to be very good. Was composed, accurate and only made a few mistakes. Seeing both as sophomores, I'd take Wooldridge over Kearns.

Ronnie Rivers is fun to watch. Small back with good burst and has a second gear. Wonder if the same schools recruiting Isaiah Floyd will recruit him? He is the son of former Fresno State standout and NFLer Ron Rivers.

Last year, we had a thread about the best high school players who aren't top prospects. Ruben Mercado would be on that list. Had a nice game at wide receiver and safety.

Foothill dominated both lines. Freedom had no time to get into his passing game and Freedom's defense hardly ever played behind the line of scrimmage.

Coming into the game, Foothill was 8 and Freedom was 11. Definitely like Foothill's ranking more after the game.

Was at the game too! Sorry I didn't give updates. Agree on Rivers. Good running back and was exciting to watch him and Floyd. I just think Freedom gets out coached against good teams. The BVAL is wild and the top half of the EBAL is going to be fun to watch. Can't wait for ncs playoffs.
