Got the win last night vs Deandre Ayton (#1 Junior in country) in front of sold out crowd at napa college. We even attracted Marc spears to come and write an article. A Crazy environment with lots of stars in attendance, while also a super competetive game. Little trash talking between Josh and GP, but that is how josh (and Gary) motivates themselves to keep game interesting. But well have to manage a little better in future to keep focus on the game.

Another two games today. 1pm and 3pm games. Prolific prep plays top 10 player 2017 Jaylen Hands and Balboa city. All games at Napa valley college.

PPTV, thanks for posting those couple articles... any video coverage expected to be released soon? Also, anywhere we can see boxscores from all of the games played this weekend?

Thanks.

Yup, I was an undergrad there a long time ago. Think John Lucas, Lefty Driesell, and Randy White. Visited recently to see my nephew, who just got his PHD in engineering.

There are two Turtles with basketball and tennis letters. Cool Hand Luke is the other.

Second. Three years basketball manager under Lefty...all three years with Buck and a year with tennis.I then decided I needed to actually graduate and didn't work with any team my fifth year.

I was at Friday's and Saturday's games. Great show! Terrific basketball bein' played up thar in Napa!

Only small quibble is the lack of any real programs. There were lineups for two of the four teams on Friday, not nearly enough copies to go around.

Saturday, there was a note at the ticket table to go online to a website, and that site had very little info on it. The links to most teams led to a blank page.

I would have liked it to at least had names and numbers, so I could checkmark my fave players and research where they're looking at going to college, etc.

BTW, I have started telling friends that the 2018 NBA Rookie Of The Year is playing up there...

Since I wasn't there Sunday, why did Josh Jackson play so few minutes? Foul trouble, maybe?

Kiddman you are dead on. The Grind Session was suppose to bring the programs to the event but they forgot to ship them. There wasn't much we could do that last minute. But a good reminder for sure.

Josh didn't play much cause it was 3 games and 3 days. We try to limit his court time on weekend events. Since he barely played friday, we wanted to only play him low minutes on Sunday (or not at all). Since our team had the game handled fairly easy, it was the smart move to rest him.

We have 6 more home contests coming up in February and March. We are finally playing what I feel is our best team ball of the season. The kids are really starting to work together chemistry wise.

I caught the last two games on Saturday and would have also liked to see a quality program to help compliment the high quality basketball that was played.

Just a side note about the games I watched on Saturday. I have read several posts about the Prolific Prep basketball model both for and against and have been a silent observer over the past several months, trying to keep my opinion to myself until I had a chance to watch the games in person. I have watched several of the what I would call "highlight tapes" which prolificprep has posted on this forum. I have to admit after watching these highlight clips I like many others had the impression that these games where more of an aau style offensive showcase. I would like to compliment the Prolific Prep players and coaching staff for some outstanding defense and great all around effort. From where I was sitting the players on both teams were just flat out getting after it! Some high level basketball was played on both ends of the floor and for that you have to credit where credit is due.

Thanks for the compliments and verifying that highlight tapes do now show the grit of an Abu Kigab or Devon Daniels, or how well defensively the games are being played. Sometimes its almost impossible to stop though future NBA prospects. Its just a different level (especially when you play 40-min games that mirror the college game) In 32 minutes (traditional high school), anything can happen when teams play zone and coaches manage or control the tempo. In 40 minutes, its almost impossible, and true talent takes over.

Coach Billy McKnight is one of the finest coaches I have ever been around. Coached multiple NBA players as assistant at University of Oregon, coached Stefan Marbury at the Pro level in China, and was the 1st head coach of the first NCAA mens team in China. The guy can flat out coach and is an under study of Brett Brown. It is only his first year, and our team is finally starting to grasp his system and principles. By next fall, the team/program should be where he wants them to be for future years.

Didn't know there was any NCAA team in China.. SMH!!!!! Maybe you are referring to the CUBA

I don't think there is an ncaa team in Cuba, either. He probably just mis-typed.

Stop nitpicking; it just makes you look bad.

Didn't know there was any NCAA team in China.. SMH!!!!! Maybe you are referring to the CUBA

H.E.A.T there is no CUBA - you are referring to CBA which is the Chinese Basketball Association which is where Billy McKnight coached as an assistant coach but he was the head coach to the first university team in China.

H.E.A.T. you are always hating on so many things; why be like that? Is it because of personal setbacks in life or setbacks for a HS program in Elk Grove? Why be like that. Always really negative.

Coach Billy McKnight was the head coach of the first Chinese University team last year to ever play as a University. Almost every country besides the USA, there are no university or college athletic teams because Sports and Academics are separated.

Coach Billy McKnight coached the first ever University team in China. That University team does not play in the NCAA obviously.

Coach Billy McKnight can flat out coach and is a great person to boot. The defensive ideologies and the way it is implemented with his team is very high level. There was some very high level defense being played this past weekend in Napa from the Prolific Prep team. It helps having arguably the best defensive wing player in the entire country either in HS or College on your team.

The level of basketball being played on both sides of the ball up in Napa by Prolific Prep is High Major college basketball. The athleticiscm, physicality, skill, speed, and IQ on the floor is really high. The entertainment and the value of the entertainment is really good.

Josh Jackson comes around once every 10-15 years. People from the Bay Area probably have yet to see him which is too bad. I heard Prolific Prep plays another good showcase game against Hillcrest Academy on Saturday February 27th per:

Kiddman and Hoops1124 . Before you open your mouth why not read. My post said THE CUBA . i was seeking clarification. PROLIFIC SAID
was the 1st head coach of the first NCAA mens team in China
. There is A CUBA so before you hitman try and talk smack know what you are taking about. Also always negative? Most everything on here is debate /trash talk/personal agendas. I tend to lean towards only commenting with factual stuff. I never will talk bad about any kid no matter how bad i might personally feel. I also will stick up for kids being shed in a negative light. GO ahead, i challenge you to go find any negative post about a kid or coach on this board EVER. now if someone like PP tv wants to come on here and try to sell some wins that aren't as big as he would like people to think ,and I'm bored then ya i might get into a debate. So i wouldn't call it HATING ON EVERYTHING.

Chinese University Basketball Association
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chinese University Basketball Association or CUBA, was founded in 1996 and the league was launched in 1998. It is the most competitive and popular college basketball competition in China. This event is held annually and divided into the preliminary stage and the final stage, in which the national championship team is decided through a bracket style elimination event.

Unlike other Chinese athletic organizations, CUBA is a privately funded organization with no affiliation with the Chinese government. Similar to that of the NCAA, the rules of CUBA grant eligibility only to amateur players. CUBA was originally intended to mirror the NCAA Men's Basketball.

THE CBA is a professional league. I know what I'm talking about when i write so check your own info both of you because as KIDMAN WOULD SAY IT JUST MAKES YOU LOOK BAD
