1. Mitty (1-0) LW: #1

The Monarchs got the season started with 97-37 win at Arroyo Grande behind 25 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and five steals from Haley Jones. Hunter Hernandez, Ashley Hiraki and Ania McNicholas were also in double figures. Up next is Christian Brothers on December 8.

2. Pinewood (1-0) LW: #2

Klara Astrom had 27 points and Hannah Jump added 14 points in a 72-38 win over Dublin. The Panthers made 11 threes in their season opener. Pinewood will host Cardinal Newman on December 5 before traveling to Bishop O’Dowd on December 8. All three teams made the Open Division this past season.

3. Salesian (0-0) LW: #3

The Pride have a three game week against Bethel, St. Joseph and St. Patrick-St. Vincent.

4. Miramonte (4-1) LW: #5

Miramonte went 3-1 at the La Jolla Country Day Sweet 16 tournament with the loss coming to eventual champion Highlands Ranch-Colorado (72-47). They beat Bishop’s (62-60), Mission Hills (52-49) and La Jolla Country Day (56-49). Mia Mastrov had 28 points in the win over Bishop’s.

5. St. Joseph (3-0) LW: #6

The Pilots’ best win was a 66-51 victory over Whitney where Malia Mastora scored a season high 30 points. On the year, she is averaging nearly 24 points per game. St. Joseph, who is without Sophie Nilsson, play Salesian and Sacred Heart Cathedral this week.

6. St. Mary’s-Stockton (0-0) LW: #7

The season opener is December 4 against Bradshaw Christian before the Rams take on Eastside Prep on December 7.

7. Sacramento (0-0) LW: #8

Sacramento will play Lincoln-Stockton on December 4 and then travel to Redding for the Harlan Carter Invitational.

8. Carondelet (0-0) LW: #9

Carondelet beat Logan in its foundation game and will tip off for real this Saturday against Bear Creek at the Elite Showcase.

9. Antelope (6-0) LW: #10

Antelope has a pair of tournament titles in the early season as sophomore Jzaniya Harriel averaged 27 points per game, including 39 in the finals, of the Bill Cartwright Classic. Angel Jordan has scored in double figures in five of the six games.

10. Sacred Heart Cathedral (2-1) LW: #14

Sacred Heart Cathedral made the finals of the Cardinal Newman Classic with wins over Eastside Prep and Cardinal Newman before falling to a strong Regis Jesuit squad out of Colorado. The Fightin’ Irish play St. Joseph on Saturday.

11. Cardinal Newman (3-1) LW: #13

Anya Choice’s 35 points in a 71-63 win over Bishop O’Dowd in the third place game of the Cardinal Newman Classic was the highlight of the early season for the Cardinals. They did drop a two point game to Sacred Heart Cathedral (66-64) in semi-final action.

12. Heritage (3-0) LW: #12

The Patriots rolled to the Dublin tournament title in beating the host Gaels 69-42. This comes on the heels of a foundation game win over Salesian. Heritage will face Clovis North at the Elite Showcase this weekend.

13. Folsom (3-0) LW: NR

The new look Bulldogs won the Dorothy Speck tournament at Davis High School with a combined margin of victory of 12 points including wins over West Campus and McClatchy. Next up for Folsom is the Roseville Elite Showcase with the opener against Inderkum.

14. McClatchy (3-1) LW: #11

The Lions finished second at the Dorothy Speck tournament at Davis High School in falling to Folsom (41-39) in the finals. McClatchy led 19-6 after the first quarter before scoring 20 points in the final three frames. McClatchy faces Franklin-Elk Grove before taking on Clovis West on Saturday.

15. Bear Creek (1-0) LW: #15

Bear Creek won its opener over Weston Ranch (79-13) and will be at the Rocklin tournament this week with a potential meeting against Antelope that would create a section final rematch.

16. St. Francis-Mountain View (3-0) LW: #16

The Lancers beat Yosemite, Mills and Sacred Heart Prep all by double digits in winning the Kelly Shea Gallo Mills Shootout. Up next is South San Francisco and Marin Catholic this week.

17. Oakland (4-0) LW: NR

On the back of beating Bishop O’Dowd 62-59, Oakland makes its rankings debut. Kya Pearson had 21 points while Morgan Dunbar and Mariyanna Trahan each had 14 points against the Dragons.

18. Bishop O’Dowd (1-3) LW: #4

It was been an up and down start for Bishop O’Dowd, which lost its opener to Oakland (62-59) before going 1-2 at the Cardinal Newman Classic. The Dragons have scored more than 60 points once, which came in a 71-63 to Cardinal Newman in the third place game on Saturday. They will host Pinewood on December 8.

19. St. Ignatius (3-0) LW: NR

St. Ignatius moves into the rankings after winning the Marin Catholic Lady Cat Classic. It beat Campolindo (73-22), Aptos (52-31) and Menlo (66-51) with senior Maddie Ennis earning MVP honors. The Wildcats host Lincoln-San Francisco before making a return trip to the Roseville Elite Showcase.

20. Oak Ridge (3-2) LW: NR

Oak Ridge knocked off a preseason Top 20 team in Valley Christian (61-56) in between losses to Central Section powers Clovis West (87-54) and Clovis North (75-53). At the Nike Central Valley Showdown, Lauren Helwig was named all-tournament. Oak Ridge will be at the Trojan Clash at Lincoln High School in Stockton this week.
