Hm, seems familiar…

Nationally-ranked powerhouses meet again!

Mitty, ranked 5th nationally and Etiwanda, ranked 6th.

Third time in a row that this has been the Open state title game, and the only two times these two have met during the MaxPreps era.

I picked Mitty to get the win this time, 1-point choice…. basically a pick’em.

Saw the Monarchs play then-undefeated Clovis West in the NorCal final, came away VERY impressed! They seem to have gotten things together bigtime since the injury to megastar McKenna Woliczco.

Meanwhile, Etiwanda knocked off national #1 Ontario Christian and the amazing Kaleena Smith on Tuesday, after having lost to that rival twice during the season.

This is one helluva matchup!!

Not often you get to see two top-10 national teams meet up, unless of course it’s the CIF open girls game!

On the broadcast talking about for the 1st time ever ALL FEMALE refs for all the girls games. Dumbest crap ever!

How about just put THE BEST REFS ON THE GAMES regardless of sex.

Not a fan... just put the best refs on the games...cmon 🤷

3:16 left in the half.

Patterson’s en fuego…. NBA 3 makes it 32-27.

Mitty gets a stop, foul…. Cook makes a pair for Mitty. 32-29.

McCathy gets it to 32-31…

61-44 after 3 q’s.

I see some are already bashing Sue Palmer.

She can’t shoot, rebound, run, defend for her kids.

Etiwanda is playing great, that’s all there is to it.

Morris has 12 and 7 assists
Finley has 19
Rice has 13

On the Mitty side:

Patterson has 14, Hunter has 10 and 7 rebounds.

Super impressed w/Mitty. W/o their best player and unable to shoot, kept the game close and respectable. Fun up and down game. I'm guessing Mitty shot 20 for 80. Didn't see any numbers the whole game. Am I close?

Two losses in Texas will keep Etiwanda from national title.

That officiating crew worked two of our games -- just excellent. But the real question is why men work women's games but no women work men's games. There are two aspects:

1) If the women are good enough to work a girls' game, why aren't they good enough to work a men's game?

2) If they're not good enough, then why do the girls get them? Shouldn't the girls have the same quality of officiating as the boys? If CIF is saying female officials aren't qualified for boys' state games, then they shouldn't be working girls' games.

The most important factor of the game yesterday was the referees. These women
Who referred the game would not let the
Young women play the game. This is not the
Same competition that these women knew in the 80s and 90s. These athletes are not to
Be protected on every bump and push.
They now play the game a very different way.
They use tools that the referees could not imagine. Their bodies and movement patterns
Are so much more advanced. As a team the referees were the greatest impact on the competition.

My guess is their are more men referees than women referees. just as their are more men players than women players. Refs come from previous players.
