Less than 12 hours and Florida makes the young kid a 6 year deal he can’t refuse. Great game last night in losing effort. Boouya from palma was incredible

btw, Clink better be getting an Interview.

Tough blow for USF, but knew he would leave at some point. Last two hires have been very good.

Bouyea was terrific last night!

Good for him. Really great game last night. I know Bouyea was on the NBA radar, but he improved his stock even though he is considered “old” by todays standards smh.

Todd Golden did it the right way. But congrats to him. Big time program and it shows how hard he has worked to get there. Truly life changing

Palma kids have always killed us at newman!
Good job golden!

If the published numbers are accurate, Golden will make ten times more money at Florida than he did at USF. The Dons, sadly, are stuck as a low-paying mid-major. Will it ever change? Probably not.

and he will have a top level facility to recruit too.

huge difference between 250-400k a year and 2mil a year. Kind of goes hand in hand with the facility. So you are absolutely right, if he could recruit well at USF then he sure could load up with the Gators. And the dude stepping into his spot at USF, has a opportunity now to create his own journey. Win win all the way around

Think it’s 6 year valued 18m. Wow… No way was he not +500k at USF. 250k is what you would see at a really low budget d1 program like sac state .

Larry I have a way of finding things out, his base at USF was 400k. So can’t blame the guy, huge difference in financial dollars between WCC and SEC, which has always shocked me on how Randy has never left St Mary’s. Gonzaga is the elite job in the WCC obviously, Randy could make a lot more. But they say he always loved raising his boys in moraga and the youngest is at Campo. So does he finally jump, although he is excited about the expansion of the current pavilion. Sometimes people get happy with what they have. I was hoping they pulled it off today.

Saint Mary’s is expanding? How many seats are they planning on adding?

I can't find anything that says there are going to be seats added to the gym... It seems more like remodels to the training facilities, offices, etc. The articles I can find only hint at auditorium remodel/renovation, which seems to me more like improvements in lighting, seat comfort, viewing angles, concessions, etc.

400k in SF isn’t even good money too. That sounds crazy I know but any decent house is 1.5-2m now. Insane.
randy must be 750k?

You are correct, my error on what I read. I just looked up the expansion project plans.

Larry if I recall correctly the university has provided housing to a few of the recent coaches. I could be wrong, but I recall someone speaking on that during one of the Bruce Mahoney games a few years back.

Doing some looking, one site had him around 575k in 2017, but he also signed a 10 year contract in 2017 as well. So no doubt he could easily be in the range your speaking. I also found a article, and his wife says Randy doesn’t like change. She makes him the same sandwich every game day. On that note one year up at Arco he was watching Mitty play. He ran into a coach I drove up and they know each other. He said I lost my ride back to the bay and I can’t get ahold of him. I said I will be glad to drive you back to Moraga. As we headed towards the car his phone rang. I was like damn that would have been one hell of a conversation for a good hour and a half.

That makes sense on the housing package. I believe cal /stanford does similar. I’m glad Bennett stayed. He’s built a power and moraga is gem.

For decades, the surprise disappointment has been Santa Clara. The school has it all. Location. Facilities. History. Money. Yet the men's athletic program is mediocre at best. The school is perfectly situated right in the heart of Silicon Valley, virtually next door to a major airport and other transit options. Its new fitness center is a gem. Its academic reputation is excellent. The weather is superb. Student employment/career opportunities abound. SCU should soar far above any of its private school California rivals when it comes to athletics. But no. The Broncos languish in a dreary sporting corral of their own making. The alumni cannot be pleased.

@colhenrylives . Agree with you. I have some family that is alumni. Say it’s a soccer school and everything else is 2nd! Men’s hoop making tremendous strides. 21 wins this year and herb sendek is a legit coach. Baseball is also pretty solid. And at end of day it’s the best academic school in the WCC.

Regarding the baseball program, no, it's not anywhere near where it should be...which is top of the line on the West Coast. SCU is located in what amounts to a hotbed of suburban high school baseball talent yet the Broncos languish as a middling-to-bad program on a depressingly regular basis. They have a terrific mini-stadium and lots of other amenities. But the annual roster and results are less than stimulating. Through 2019 (their last full campaign), they have posted losing seasons in 15 of the last 20 seasons. Grim. It's frustrating to watch Stanford produce outstanding baseball teams every season while SCU, just 12 or so miles to the south on El Camino Real, cannot.

how much bigger is the budget at stanford? also is it hard to recruit baseball players like it is for football and basketball? i know nothing about baseball

I think baseball is one of the hardest to “project” how a kid will end up. Basketball and football depend so much on size, athleticism, and god given talent which is usually evident to the eye during recruiting. Baseball is so much harder. You can be fat, slow, but have a cannon and hit bombs. And baseball is not fully funded d1 sport. These teams have 12 scholarships to divide up.

this man got to florida and immediately upgraded his bank account and seen the women at UF are elite! buddy is a millionaire and was stalking 23 year olds

This is the problem. While they are allegations, one could say they are just allegations against P Diddy too.

Dude was telling college student age females that they were “his drug” before games. He was taking picture of his ——you know what and sending them to Florida students.

While I’ll agree these are allegations, I would be absolutely stunned if he wasn’t able to keep his job.

What I don’t get is if someone wants to act this way, then be single. Don’t have a wife and kids that will be collateral damage When all the stuff hits the fan!
