Sypkens was a nice player at Franklin, Did not realize he is coaching now Good for him.

CA, OR, AZ, and WA Jucos should schedule in their Fall showcases and upcoming regular season.

Miller played for La Lumiere, so you know he's going to be a good one.

Love Oger and the Canadian kid as well.

Trammel brings that hometown flavor to the group, formerly of SI.

Not gonna lie, I didn't think you guys would put together an impressive roster because the whole idea behind this was kinda iffy in my mind but this roster seems very very impressive.

Hopefully some of the games end up getting streamed or have highlight videos by the popular youtube basketball channels throughout this season.

Question on 5th year preps .Do these kids go to any classes? I know some players need some courses to be NCAA eligible, I'm almost certain Trammel was a solid student and already graduated.

Yes, some of the players attend Napa Valley College, or online classes. However that is on an individual needs basis. GSP is a Basketball Development Prep Academy - Not a Prep Academic School. If some of the players attend classes during their free time, that is up to them. But the kids have 2-3 workouts per day, where the focus is on individual and team development.

The team will play 12 home games per year. The same night that the Prolific Prep teams plays as well. The team is absolutely LOADED for a first year program. And they practice/train like they are on their last chance to earn a college scholarship. The focus of this group is very special if they can play as one unit. They should be a very fun group to watch.

Wow so class is optional?

If they are qualifiers then they do not have high/mid major offers or they would already be at Division 1’s, correct?

Yep. Or maybe they want to see what else is out there. Scholarship wise and developmental wise.

Yeah, some want to see if they can get higher offers. A couple are international and want to get used to American Style of BBall for a year before accepting a scholarship (which is very smart). The last one was a the casualty of the new USA Today "Canadian Rule" that affected a lot of Canadians Last year at USA High Schools playing for National Prep teams. Emanuel Miller played for La Lumiere but during the season, USA Today ruled that all Canadians are considered that were 2020 to be 2019 since they start high school in Canada a year early. He did not get a diploma at La Lu, therefore, he is one class short from graduating. Hence, why he is here, as well as to improve his offers (Currently has Oklahoma, Illinois, Pitt, SMU, Buffalo, etc.

Every person is different when choosing a college for athletics. Some strive to try and get the highest level offer. Some strive to maximize their choice with academics and athletics. Some develop slower than others and want to wait a year so they are more physically mature. Every person decides where they are going to school on different parameters. Often times kids may have an offer but may not like their current offer and are angling to get a better offer that they perceive is better because they are fixated on levels of play and not other things. Every person has the right to decide what is best for them, even though a lot of people have opinions on what they should or should not do. They are young and may simply want one more year to be more prepared physically, mature wise, skill wise, and more prepared in general. Most kids are probably not prepared for college but each have different trigger/decision mechanisms and each may choose a different path.

I think it's similar to gray shirting if you're not a full time student your clock doesn't start, I'm guessing; I saw were a academy in southern cal required the players to take 3 classes at a JC but they trained and played for the academy.

As long as you take under 12 units your clock will not start. Good luck to the kids in their hunt for a good college.
