Well, I went 3-for-3 Thursday... Let's see how I do Saturday.

Open: Chino Hills is in another world... Absolutely everything will have to go DLS's way in order for them to have ANY shot. Yeah, I know SRV upset CH last year, but 2016 Chino is so much better than 2015 Chino it's not funny. I'll stick with what I said in the other thread, Chino Hills 91-59. (Though I hope I'm wrong... GO SPARTANS!)

D2: I saw #28 Long Beach poly play at the Modesto Christian tournament, and they looked good but not great. However, I have read they have had health issues throughout the season (though I don't know if they were full-strength in Modesto or not). #14 Serra has been strong all year and they've got Rapp patrolling the sidelines. Poly's speedballs or Serra's balanced attack? I'll go with Serra 61-57.

D4: #55 Palma scored the last 14 while knocking off West Campus last week; can they pull off another miracle against #40 Harvard-Westlake? I haven't seen Palma play this year, so I have no idea what they've got for players, style, etc. However, go on YouTube and search for Cassius Stanley of Harvard Westlake. Just might be the freakiest athlete in the 2019 class. While I haven't seen them play other than Clay's highlight-reel stuff, but I have an idea they'll be crazy good. Harvard also had their young stud out of action for a few games, and he's recently returned and should be close to 100% for this game if what I've heard is correct. I'll go with Harvard-Westlake 71-52

Same from my end. I don't see Serra losing.

Palma is good but not great. They only have to be great in 1 game.

There's a part of me that wants to see Chino put up 100. It won't happen but it should be interesting.

I agree with you ...but this is high school basketball.

I think Chino Hills will win but will be surprised if by over 20 (maybe not)...length of court will benefit Chino Hills speed. If DLS can get CH out of sync, maybe they have a shot, but tough to hold a team like CH down all game. I think CH will score below its average.

I think Serra v Poly will be a very good game.

Palma will be underdog but probably closer than 19. Interestingly three of the Palma Chieftains ( Wyatt Maker, Dominic Johnson and Jamaree Bouyea) played against Stanley in a Showcase Tournament during the summer. At least they will know what to expect having seen him play. Palma goes as their defense goes and also Maker and Bouyea scoring. Palma will have to play their best game of the year to keep it close.

In any event,go Norcal!

I think if we go 2-1 today we should feel very good. However I think 1-2 is probably a more likely scenario. Key for DLS is keep it close early. Build confidence that you can play with them. I've seen a lot of teams hang early and then the heavy favorites start to feel the pressure. If they get down by 10+ off the bat forget it. DLS doesn't have the horses.

I also like Serra in a close one. What a job that Rapp does.

Might be worth the price of admission just to see Stanley from Harvard West Lake. Scary prospect.

Memo to the Padres: Block those big, physical, tough LBP rebounders away from the glass. One of LBP's best offensive weapons is a missed field goal by one of its own players. This is a ferocious offensive rebounding outfit. Hello, Jack Wilson. It's going to be a five-man defensive rebounding effort on every LBP shot attempt. No cheating downcourt. Refereeing this one will not be a picnic.

Yes. It will be interesting if the refs call a tight game or let them play. Historically, refs have called tight games in Section and CIF State play. This postseason I've noticed the refs allowing a bit more physical play rather than calling it tight. Good luck Padres!

If you have the DISH network, will you be able to see the games? If not and you don't want to drive to Sacto, where can you go to see the games on TV?
