Oh, maybe I should mention the opposing squad…. it’s Riordan.

I see Serra has a 6’5” dude on their freshman squad…. and a 6’3”.

Serra’s finding a way anyhow… a couple steal and scores…. 37-29. 3:25.

btw, I’d say something about Riordan’s guys if their MaxPreps roster wasn’t a mess…. #14 has 13, that’s all. i got…

Meanwhile, Trimborn has 21 for Serra. Definitely the best player on the floor…

59-52, Riordan won’t go away…. 1:18 left, tho, not much time.

Meanwhile…. Trimborn has 26. Helluva player, I bet he was the last guy kept off JV.

And I bet this decision was mostly due to wanting him to gain lots of experience with near-unlimited playing time.

Serra jusssst hangs on, 60-57. Trimborn ended with 26. Don’t be surprised if he jumps past the JV next year and makes varsity.

Anyway, Serra has just one loss, to Jesuit, whose only loss is to SI, interestingly enough…

Riordan is 6-4. but they are playing really well here and lead 19-15 at halftime…

Sheeeesh…. took me to halftime to goof up, then correct…

Serra #2 hits another 3…. Stats not showing this game, but he has played and shot well.

Riordan hits a pair to make it a 4-point Serra lead, time out, 35 seconds.

take fouls galore…. finally, the ever-present #2 at the line…. misses both, eventually Riordan nails a 3, calls time…. 0.8 left, Serra up by 1.

Serra gets it inbounds, Riordan unable to foul in time…. Serra hangs on by 1. I think 44-43, scoreboard wiped before I could look.

Varsity coming up…. Serra looking to get off the shneide (sp) in WCAL. Tough assignment here…. Riordan is loaded with talent, and gigantic!

And, from what I’ve seen so far, they play much more TEAMlike than the last couple years.
