Here’s something to think about!

If all counties that cover a section are open come fall will that section be able to continue on as normal? All the counties that span over the Northern Section are moving faster than the rest of the state. There’s a good possibility that they all be in stage 4 by August. Thoughts?

I think every effort will be made for all schools to be open for school and fall sports, but I agree that different sections will be at different stages in all of this.

I could also see schools not travel outside of their area for games.

The Northern Section is really interesting in all of this becuase of how isolated they already are

Yes I could see all out of section games being canceled due to the travel, plus if SJS or NC aren’t open and the NS is those game would be cancelled regardless.

Been seeing all this, I have a feeling the NS will start on time while the rest of the state is behind. Not at all hoping this happens just my opinion

Does this portend a mass migration north of families and student-athletes?
Hey Crete! Good to see those fingers at work. Both with admin(“I said Pozzolan not Portland!! You knuckleheads don’t know the difference between Adam’s Law and an Adam’s apple!) and NCP.

The NS has punted to Districts, which was expected as they have the deepest pockets liability-wise. I just have this sneaking suspicion about fall. It was just last year some storied programs, including ours, couldn’t keep the numbers for frosh FB. Forfeits, reduced numbers, now Zach Hoffpauir, and a highly contagious respiratory pandemic. It’s a cocktail that’s pretty sour right now.

I meant isolated that they do their own thing. Not many out of section games. Other sections are more connected to each other.

Thanks for the clarification.
It’s uncharted territory (no pun intended) for schools right now. When “Dr.’s” Mehmet Oz and Phil essentially wrote off 2-3% mortality for children, it was sickening. Of course they capitulated when shamed, but those deep thoughts (“Dr” Phil?!) once out, makes them the TV doctor actors persona they thrive on.

Likewise, there are some on NCP who state “suck it up” (really?, breathe deeply around a carrier?!) and reopen society.

I really enjoyed HSFB the six years for mine. It’s certainly an inconvenience for the current families. Small stuff if you compare it to 90k dead. Reopening?

Seriously I wouldn't be surprised. Not all, but "Johnny's" parent's who really want to see him play his senior year and have the means to support him could rent out an apartment up north. Not a far fetched idea considering we've already seen it with the Reno express to Folsom. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of the kids from the southern section transferring to Bishop Gorman or even Texas, Georgia, Ohio, etc. HS football boundaries and what parents/students are willing to do is so much different than when I played ball.
