Agreed..... Not the top seed though... but as a poster said earlier 3rd seed.... Branson should be 4th seed.
To be honest the top 10 teams could all compete with each other. That would be the highest level. The current top 6 (open) and DV, Redwood, Moreau, Cardinal Newman all could give each other somewhat competitive games. I would even include CVC, Branson and Alameda.
There are people who would love to see this also. I guess the point is no matter how you shift the rules and the parameters someone will feel screwed at the end. It will either be a Branson or Moreau that will be playing up 3 divisions, or an El Cerrito (playing in D4) or Alhambra (playing in D5) or Livermore (playing in D3).
The only way to truly fix the issue would be to eliminate all divisions and go with the NCAA 64 team model, or have a private school state champion and a public school state champion. That will be as close to a meritocracy as we could get.
