Houston is the first offer for Sawyer? Great for him if it's true but sounds TGTBT

Riordan has another transfer? Never heard Avalos name mentioned & Riordan is pretty popular on here. I like Sawyer

Houston is one of the top programs in the country. No offense to either of these guys, but they haven't been offrered by Houston.

First two posts say that Avalos and Sawyer both got offered scholarships.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. A school like Houston doesn't offer players with 0 stars, 0 offers, and no profile with any of the recruiting services. I've seen Sawyer, he's a nice player and I expect him to play somewhere, but he's not on the national radar

Pablo Avalos was on the Varsity last year. Between the JVs and Varsity...He is a 6 foot 4 bouncy Shooting Guard...

From what I read, he trained for a little bit in Spain this Summer. Probably played with grown men, not boys like he would out here during AAU. 6'4 shooting guard. I wouldn't be surprised if Sampson offered a scholarship to a player like that.

These aren't normal times. Seeing kids play in person is rare, so if you see them once, and they go off like Pablo probably did.....a scholarship being offered isn't to crazy.

Also houston is a good program, but they aren't a national program. They are probably on the same level as a St. Mary's...at best.

We aren’t talking phi slama jama but Houston has been a nationally ranked program of recent and is on the rise big time. Story doesn’t pass the smell test.

Houston has been Top 25 3 consecutive years, SMC hasn't been top25 in 4 years

You've heard of the West Coast Bias before right? Our teams are never ranked properly, when compared to others!

Look I agree with everyone here. When I saw it, I went wow. Ok. Maybe Speights has some big connections on the coaching staff? I don't know. All I know is I saw something pop up on instagram. Sawyer isn't as far of for me, since his brother is a D1 player.

there are a ton of 6'4 shooting guards with bounce across the country. Highly doubt a JV player who got zero playing time when moved to varsity received a D1 scholly from Houston.

It is not bias. They just are not as good. Nothing wrong with that. The conference is not strong enough.

In his defense. He was hurt for the first part of the season. That is why he was placed on JVs. He is an intriguing prospect. HIS father was a pro in Spain. .Curro Avalos. AND PLAYED pro basketball for serveal years. He was on the Spanish national team. Young Pablo is your traditional euro player with a little flair. HE is gonna have a good year.. If there will be a year.
