How big an upset is THIS?

It tells me that Freedom is pretty darn good this year, and that MV still has some work to do to be able to compete with DLS by the time league rolls around.
I wouldn't call it a huge upset, but it is unexpected and an upset to be sure. A statement game for Freedom?

Freedom always manages to compete. These sorts of losses early are a nice jolt to complacency and I'm guessing that MV is not happy and is practicing hard. But credit to Freedom. Dougherty also lost recently to a Nevada team rated about 4500 in the country (I think that equates to around 500 in the state). Seems like DV came back from that loss more focused. What is strange is that the loss doesn't show up on max preps and I wonder if anyone knows why. The wins they had in Nevada do show up.
Carson lost to Riordon and San Ramon Valley both by 3 points in the Crusader Classic.
Thanks Hoop. I saw the box scores last night that said DVHS was 9-1 and I saw the Maxpreps site last night that said they were 9-0. So that was why I thought it strange. I presume the Maxprep ratings are run on some sort of an algorithm so the lack of data impacts both schools, at least for now.
Carson is 24 in Nevada but about 3200 nationally. Pittsburg (CA) is about 3150 nationally and about 330 in the state (as of now), so on that basis Carson is rated at about the Pittsburg level. It seems like Carson is a better team than that if they beat DVHS by 12 and DV only beat Pittsburg by a point. DV did beat Galena of Nevada, which is rated much higher in Maxpreps than Carson. Galena is around 1100 nationally. I’ll bet the Galena vs Carson game will be a battle.

Got my first look at Freedom last night... Athletic team that presses nearly all the time and takes lots of 3's. Good team that will make Folsom work for it tonight, but I think Folsom will be able to break that press with J. Ford leading the way, and get Freedom to play outside their comfort zone.
