Irish 4-A Nor-Cal CHAMPS! How does that sound?

Man good question. But this was 1987, didn’t know we played another game

had to be 87, I was a freshman and graduate in 91. Ironically my dad went to polytechnic, I literally have a yearbook with a photo of old Kezar packed for a game. Times have changed, just glad Kezar still exists
There was a time, so long ago that the vast bulk of this site's readership wasn't even a zygote, when Poly wasn't just a power in San Francisco; it was a NorCal Big Boy, one of the very best programs extant. The head coach was Milt Axt. His Parrots were physical, tough, disciplined and deep. There weren't a lot of surprises. They came at you with athletes and simple fundamentals. Their defense was rock-solid. They had enough big-play guys to cause major problems on offense and special teams. Their heyday was the 1950s. You can look it up.

My freshman year I was in the cheering section for SH aka my alum, on the other side was a cheering section of SI students, we each sat across from one another on the 50, and a good 25,000 plus empty seats as it was the last Bruce Mahoney game in the original Kezar.
I think the best was the USF games against SI...it was really who could be the loudest.

I miss the gold helmets.
It would be great to bring those back...Also just my opinion, it would be great if we could change up the green..some blue black or gray or midnight green or whatever, just tired of that shade of green. I think the basketball teams mixed up the colors better on their uniforms.
