Wow! what a great article. If you read this and don't have tears in your eyes...the resilience of this kid..I have no words. She was such a special player and for those of you that didn't get the chance to see her play, missed out on greatness. By far (and we've had some good players come out of Norcal) the best player I've ever seen. Best of luck on what the future holds!

I asked her about coaching, and she hadn't really thought about it. That triggered the quote at the end of the story about playing as long as she could.

But I do think we'll see her coaching at some point ... whether she sticks with it is another story, as it's not as easy as it might appear.

Saw her in high school she was definitely on another level then the other young ladies on the court her skill set and basketball IQ was off the charts.

39 points per game against top flight competition speaks for itself, but the video highlights above show what a great passer she was as well. Unfortunately, not many defensive plays ever grace these type of highlight reels. I am thankful to have watched her play BITD, and agree she was the best HS player I’ve ever seen. It appeared to have been played at Deer Valley HS, which quite possibly was one of your WCJ sites that year.

I asked Coach Que one time who the best player he ever coached was. Without hesitation he said Jacki G. Says alot considering all the studs he's coached over the years.

Jacki got a WNBA start this past week ... tremendous achievement given all she's gone through. And Washington might even slide into the playoffs.
