Jeff Walters has stepped down @ Del Oro

I would assume the hiring committee three years ago figured they’d be hiring a coach for more than three years. Not having ever been a part of a committee who hires a coach like this, who is normally on the panel?

Chris Nixon has a son who is going to be the returning starter at QB for Sheldon High School. And his son is going to be a senior. I would be surprised if he took any job this season. It's a lot moving parts to be able to make sure his son is eligible to play.

If they move it is a clear shot.....or would that be another "transfer" they have been known for?

Wow!!!

DO is a great job. They will not have a hard time filling the position. Does Taylor come back, or do they pluck a Coach from another program?

Hiring outside smart. Start fresh, sounds like number of internal issues past few years.

Start fresh, but I was under the impression that getting fresh was what got one of the on-campus guys in trouble in the first place? I’ve heard both of these but can’t remember the official stance: Was Walters involuntarily reassigned or did he voluntarily step away?

It is a real possibility that the Fall 2020 season does not happen.

Like you, I sure hope not. I have one who will be playing his final season of football next season. One of my fears is there is no senior year, which to me is the culmination of all the years of playing, year round training, and practicing. Hate to see him lose that opportunity. Very few kids move on so senior year is it.

They may continue the season, but can they hire someone worthwhile to lead the program for more than 3 years?

Short answer yes. There are so many bad football jobs out there, when one of the few good ones opens best believe guys currently in decent situations will try.

Evidently not the case when they hired the last guy. Whose to say it will be different this time around. Someone here hinted it's an inside job, so don't bother applying, definitely sounds tainted.
