Beautiful day out here. Actually feels warm. Folsom receives and picks up first down on inside screen to Flores but is having trouble running the ball thus far.

I like this. Jesuit 2 first downs on 4th and 1.
They are playing to win. Jesuit on 50 now

Yes. Doesn’t look nearly as crisp as earlier in season. I’m not sure if Lyons is playing. He’s done nothing. 7-7 Jesuit has ball on Folsom 25 with 43 sec left and turns over on downs. Jesuit QB having a rough night.
St Mary’s and Rocklin would smash both of these teams.

7-7 half
its amazing how far Folsom has fallen. This is not the same team that beat them by 50

I think Lyons is in the game but not doing much yet.

Yeah he caught a nice pass near half. Folsom needs to speed up the game. They will be in trouble at this pace.

I don’t know if Jesuit can throw the ball well enough to win this game. You gotta be able to complete a few passes.

I think Jesuit starter came out at QB.
i can’t tell. This game is going to come down to the end. Still 7-7 and nobody can do anything on offense

Oh man!!! Jesuit was wide open and QB overthrow by 15 yards. Not even in the same ocean. Folsom defense looks good. They are stacked in.

Omg!! What in the world is the kicker doing.
bad snap 30 yards and Folsom recovers in end zone. TD Folsom
14-7

Seems like it - no indication of injury but its having a negative impact on Jesuit play.

Wow, what a blunder on the Jesuit side - Folsom scores by falling on the ball in the endzone.

Wow the NFHS network feed is hugely delayed. Its just now starting the 4thQ on the feed.

Really nice day here/ I mean couldn’t t ask for better venue. This could come down to Fg.

Folsom sure has Jesuit’s number. Hopefully Rocklin has theirs.

It’ll really help if the Thunder can avoid spotting Folsom 14 points as they did SM’s last night. Gotta get off to a much better start.

Yeah tough loss. That botched punt was brutal. Should have been at worse a safety. I got rocklin as 17pt fav. I’m not worried anymore about Folsom.

Great game. Incredible call to go for 2.
Hats off to both teams. Kids played tough.

This game is a prime example to cite when someone invariably argues that “<team x> couldn’t overcome a 3,4,5 score differential” when discussing a potential rematch.

Jesuit not only drastically narrowed their 49 point defeat to Folsom last August, they held a late lead and came within a 2 point conversion from completely flipping the script on Folsom.

While we all know injuries played a big factor, Folsom flipped a 35 point defeat to Grant Union early in the 2010 season into a 21 point win months later. Del Oro overcame a 25 point defeat to Rocklin in 2015 to later win by 10 in the Section Final.

These changes of fortune occurred in the same season, yet there are some that still refuse to accept that it’s possible to accomplish even the very next season.

I only bring it up because I know how many times the argument has been used over the years here at NCP. Well, now this game can be added to the growing list of examples to the contrary.

Eh, I’d like to believe Rocklin will pick up where they left off against Folsom. But we know how rematches can sometimes workout, especially when the previous game was a huge blowout.

Folsom is highly talented and will be extremely motivated and focused to avenge their embarrassing loss to Rocklin. The game be at a neutral site. Tremain will be back for Folsom, Lueth likely won’t be for Rocklin. Even if he is, he won’t have any game reps as Tremain has. Also, St. Mary’s gave Folsom a blueprint to try to follow, if they can.

So there are already numerous different factors in play.

I still believe Rocklin to be the better team, but the better team doesn’t always win. I like Rocklin’s chances should they get off to a better start than they did against St. Mary’s. If they give Folsom confidence early, they’ll be in another dogfight and potentially fighting up hill all game again.

However, if Rocklin can jump on Folsom early, I think they can somewhat replicate what happened in mid-October.

Folsom did play tough today on D. I thought they showed more toughness than I’ve seen. I just like Rocklin. They seemed noticeably better than Jesuit to me but that is why they play.

Btw #40 for Jesuit is Kai Wallin. 6”6 230 TE/De.
I was super impressed with him. He is going to make some program happy.
