Conversation Piece:
Although very early in the preseason, Clovis H.S. is a team I anticipate will battle perennial power Clovis West after playing three preseason games in November. They have three solid wins--two that count. Both Clovis (3-0) and Clovis West (4-0) have been placed in the NorCal region (not SoCal) for the past three (3) consecutive CIF post-seasons.
Clovis beat San Joaquin Memorial, 54-47 on 11/21 (although a Foundation Game--doesn't count)
San Joaquin Memorial beat La Jolla Country Day 51-50 on 11/25 at a neutral site (SJM was 19-8 last season, in D3 NorCals)
Clovis beat Priory, 59-40 on 11/23 at home
Clovis beat St. Mary's of Stockton, 53-45 on 11/25 (at St. Mary's)
St. Mary's of Stockton beat Bishop O'Dowd, 43-37 on 11/30 at a neutral site
With the exception of Mitty, the NorCal playoff picture should be quite interesting with more parity and less dominance among the top (non-Mitty) teams.
