Position Available: Head Crew Coach Coach - Coaching position only, no teaching positions available.

Beginning Date: September 1, 2009

Where: Junipero Serra High School is the Archdiocesan Catholic High School for boys in San Mateo County. Junipero Serra is an academic high school whose strong college preparatory curriculum enables its graduates to enroll and succeed at the college level. Junipero Serra High School offers a full range of extra-curricular activities as well as an excellent honors program. The academic, personal and spiritual growth and development of its students is the purpose of Junipero Serra High School and the motivation of its faculty, staff and administration.

Requirements:
? Demonstrates three-years of successful experience as a crew coach.
? Demonstrates knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques in the sport of crew.
? Demonstrates successful personality and character traits appropriate to Catholic educational leadership.
? Demonstrates successful ability to teach, enforce, advocate and model appropriate behavior, character traits, Christian and educational values to student-athletes.
? Demonstrates successful ability to teach, organize and supervise student-athletes.
? Demonstrates successful management and organizational skills.
? Demonstrates successful ability to work with parent groups, administrators, staff and students.
? Current CPR/First Aid, NFHS or ASEP certification

Duties:
? Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques for the program.
? Schedules all competition.
? Attends all required school, league and sectional meetings.
? Responsible for ordering of all equipment and uniforms with the approval of the Athletic Director.
? Schedules practice times for all teams in the program in conjunction with the time allotment given.
? Maintains a knowledge of all sport, school, league, section and state rules and by-laws.
? Recommends to the Athletic Director candidates for assistant and lower level coaching positions.
? Foster training in conduct, ethics and sportsmanship for all athletes and coaches.
? Supervision of the athletes before, during and after workouts.
? Submits to the Athletic Director requests for new equipment.
? Verify with the Assistant Athletic Director that each team member has the appropriate forms on file prior for pre-season and off season conditioning.
? Shall continually update professional expertise in the appropriate area by attending clinics, joining professional organizations, reading professional literature or any other acceptable means.
? Work with the Athletic Director to solve problems at the lowest level while supporting the ideas of the program/parent/coaches concern procedures.
? Continually review the ongoing effectiveness of the program at all levels.
? Shall perform such necessary details in this position which are not specifically stated but which are considered by competent authorities to be generally associated with the head coaching position.

Compensation: As per collective bargaining agreement
