Justin Reber takes over at Inderkum

According to the Sacramento Bee, Reggie Harris has stepped down as a teacher and football coach and Reber has been named the interim coach

Coach Reber sure has made the rounds as a head coach.

Capital Christian (2010), Saddleback Valley Christian (2011), Rio Linda (2014), Sacramento (2015), El Dorado (2017), Bella Vista (2019), Sacramento (2021), Inderkum (2025).

Not sure if I missed any.

Bummed to see Coach Harris step away, but Coach Reber should be able to keep that program rolling.

I think he bounced around allot bc he was an off campus coach. We know how difficult that is to do.
As I understand it he now is a credentialed teacher and has tenure.
He knows his business,
Memory serves me right he beat Folsom while at Sac High.....Tall task to perform

That explains why he bounced around. But why the merry go round with coaches at that school? I know when they played my Mustangs in playoffs they were well coached. And his kids class kids. From the games I saw. Oakdale has had an alumni coach since 1959. When my father went there.

Oakdale and north sac/Natomas are as opposite as it gets. Oakdale people stay in Oakdale. That ain't it in North sac

Inderkum's football program remains one of the most puzzling in the region.
Seeens like they get quite a bit of talent, from what I’ve observed of them. I’m not up in Sac, so I don’t know a lot about them. But what I have seen is that they usually have a lot of athleticism and speed

Yes they get a lot of talent and would get more under the right circumstances!

I’m an outsider looking in.... but Inderkum seems to really struggle with accepting its true identity.

The school feels stuck between two worlds: North Natomas and North Sacramento. On paper, they’re the same but in reality, they’re two very different vibes.

Are they trying to be a polished suburban football program or a proud North Sac city powerhouse? Right now, they seem caught in the middle. It feels like the administration wants to run the program like it’s Granite Bay but the kids and the community bring way too much North Sac flavor and edge for that to really work.

League placement remains another issue. The current league is weak lacking competitive challenges and regional pride yet the administration seems content to remain in it. They should have joined the Metro along with Grant, West Park, and Capital Christian. Metro would’ve given them real rivalries, better competition, more respect, and more city pride.

Coach Terry Stark deserves major credit for laying the program’s foundation and making it a destination for players across North Sacramento. Coach Harris seemed poised to continue that success. Many believe that his 2023 team would have upset Folsom had All State Jeremiah Tuiileila (transferred to Grant) been on the roster. They probably win section that year.

Harris brought strong ties to the North Sacramento community, ambition, and proven success. But it appears that his personality didn't mesh with the school and tensions/circumstances led to an early exit.

Now with Coach Reber in charge, perhaps this is the direction leadership always envisioned. Whether this chapter will finally bring the program into alignment with the community remains to be seen.

Why can’t they be a polished North Sac city powerhouse? Suburban academics and North Sac athleticism sounds like a winning combination. What enrollment division do they pay in?

They are a Division 1 school but play in a very weak league.

I agree, it does sound like a winning combination. It doesn't seem like the administration supports it or quite knows how to pull it off.

They could definitely benefit from fine-tuning or even reimagining their brand identity.

They seem like a sleeping giant. Since they’re D1 for playoffs, how have they done in the post season recently? Folsom and Grant seem to pretty much run things around Sac, but Inderkum seems like one of these days they’re going to break through, at least potentially

Not great. But they did challenge Folsom in 2023. The 2nd round game was tightly contested. Folsom won 36-29

The metro has 3 teams weaker than any team in their current league. The section matches up leagues by enrollment and overall sports program. If the AD Rieber could improve the country club sports overall then maybe the SFL could be a possibility. They have had a storied program for quite some time. Many talented plays have left tells me Reggie Harris was not a coach sone wanted to play for or Folsom and Grant offered NIL.

True but playing Grant, Destiny Christian and West Park would have been a big step up. I also contend that Christian Brothers should have come as well.

Speaking of SFL: a switch with Davis for Football and Basketball also makes sense.

Point remains Indy has never played in a competitive football league.
