Pleasant Valley star is headed to Utah, according to one source that includes a video of Kremer saying just that. (May 18 story)

Can't find any other sources that agree as of yet, not even Utah's site.

I dunno... That video is from Chico/Redding local news, so they probably assumed scholly. However, according to VerbalCommits, Utah has no slots left. Based on that scholarship situation, my guess is walk-on.

This kid can really play. He must have turned down some D1 low level offers to accept a preferred walk on spot. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins a scholarship eventually.

This reminds me of the Zack Whitting situation. Zack also played for Pleasant Valley about 12 years ago.
Same type of build and Similar in playing style. Zack also walked on to Utah.
He then decided to transfer to Chaminade and had a very good career there. Even being a considered for the Cousey award.
Lots of folks didn’t think he would turn out to be the point guard that he became.
After college he played in Europe for several years.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Here’s wishing you great hoops

I notice that according to VerbalCommits, Utah has two current upperclassmen listed as "Former Walk-On", which (I assume) means those two guys walked on, then eventually earned scholarships. Maybe that's what Kremer is after.

Then again, the star of Pleasant Valley's girls hoop team, Sirena Tuitele, is going to Utah on scholarship... Maybe there's some connection there...

Scratch that... Tuitele is going to Colorado. D'oh!

Kremer is pretty legit. I know talent and he's 6"5 200 with underrated athleticism. He gets dunks frequently and can get his shot off without problem. The reason I like him is he is a big guard who won't have a hard time with the physicality piece. I have a much harder time piecing where the guard from ODOWD ends up at UTAH. 6"2-6"3 and very small frame, but really played inside a lot in HS. They had him at the 4 in some games. Freakishly athletic and plays super hard though. If he gets on the floor it will be because of his defense.

I had the same thoughts about Gaskin playing in the Pac 12. He's going to have to expand his range or he won't get much if any playing time. As you stated Kremer is legit and might have an easier transition to the college game given his size and shooting range.

So here is the the most updated info on Kremer from a reliable source. He is now a walk-on for at least the next year at Utah.
The offers he had, were from Cal State Northridge and Cal Baptist.
Thoughts were that he needs to work on foot speed to get on the floor, and be offered next year.
He can do it. See my prior post about Zack Whitting.

Here's wishing you great hoops
