Kyree Walker Chooses Chameleon Bx

Kyree Walker announced this morning he’ll be training for the 2021 NBA Draft with Chameleon Bx joining Marjon Beauchamp.

My only issue with the decision is that it’s now going to be a long time before this kid plays organized ball. Not playing next year, didn’t play this year. That would worry me as a scout.

This new post HS path will be very interesting to track. Good for prospects to be able to stay closer to home but also going to see who really loves the game.

He should have reclassified two years ago so he could graduated in June 2019. Then he would have been eligible for this years draft. He will 21 years old during his first full month of nba ball assuming he makes it. From the outside looking in, his team completely mismanaged this situation.

He will never play in the nba. Total debacle of a situation from the start. And unfortunately he peaked early (also was old) and will be forgotten going this route. Maybe a pro contract overseas...

Would the G League program not take him?

I don't see this being better than the G League Pathway program where you get to play in games against good competition... plus get paid! Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd need teammates.

It’s Sad that you’re obviously so Biased against a Kid trying to make it to the next level. Tells a lot about you. You don’t bash Isa Silva for being too old. You’re a Real Hater!,

I think the issue is that the route he decided to take creates suspicion. It was said that he took the year off to prepare for the next level. I don't know how playing for a prep school that plays a national schedule considered in the way of preparing for the next level. And now that he is skipping the college route not to go play oversees but to train again looks fishy. In my opinion it looks like he is trying to not be compared to other players for fear of his draft stock falling. Along with the talent around him for his class he is not in the top 15 so he needs to be in compete mode to show that he is better than the guys at his position. He is giving other players the advantage by staying out of sight out of mind. A kid like Jalen Green has people already talking about him being #1 and has already proven himself. He can afford to take a year to prepare. Kyree needs to compete.
