Laney wins JC State!

I went over to Sac City yesterday to watch the JC state champ. Wow, some great talent. Congrats to former Newman great Jordon Brookshire leading the Laney Eagles to their first ever state title. He had 5 total TD's with 3 in the air and 2 on the ground. Not sure where his recruiting will land him but this effort certainly won't hurt.

Really awesome to read this! I knew when I watched Jordon against St Mary's HS he was a D1 player. Great story about perseverance and hard work. I know he will do great for the Aztecs.

As an Aztec fan I'm extremely excited to follow Jordon's career with SDSU especially considering how much class his dad showed on the Jordon Bshire thread.

An update from NBC
news Bay Area says that Laney College has been ranked #1 JC in the country according to Massey Statistics rankings. Based on the Statistics the Laney Eagles outperformed 4 yr NCAA football programs such as Villanova, Georgia State, New Mexico State and Columbia to name a few examples.
Congrats to Laney A.D. and head Coach John Beam.

Besides giving athletes like Jordan Brookshire a chance/time to develop his size and skills there are 11 OUSD grads working towards getting an opportunity to play for a 4 yr NCAA program that passed them in HS.
