Larry the Legend Riordan Prediction

G61 is the best. Best real estate in the country over at San Quentin.

Its been a long drought over on Phelan Avenue guys. I did enjoy the Riordan Hoop days of the late 80's and early 90's. Some of the golden years in the city.

Have you or G61 actually watched Riordan play or are you just making this shit up as you go along.

I have seen them play.

They are having a great year. That's awesome. Still an 3rd or 4th place team in our Sierra Foothill League.

I like how FUBO gets called out for being a Sacramento native, trying to claim the Bay Area and mysteriously goes into hiding.

Classic ;)

I couldn't resist! Are we still talking High School Football? Folsom is having another Monster year. Riordan may take WCAL. Lots of football left.

Fubo is native to the San Francisco's infamous Tenderloin area and a reknown ladyboy. You can catch him each night prancing around on-stage at Diva's on Post St. near Polk (known transgender night club).

Only a ladyboy...like Fubo...could possibly do a 180 in less than a year and go from taunting the Riordan jackrabbits to tormenting the SHC Irish....and now he's claiming Sacto native????

...It must be that "time of the month" for him.

I may dislike the jackrabitt fandom on this board, but I have a new-found respect for the Crusader team.

Larry,
Agreed its been awhile in hoops, but you forgot the Rob Jones era and just a few years ago, they went back and forth with you Cardinal Newman team in the Norcal Finals when we were both in the gym watching and posting. Agreed their teams of the 80s represented their glory days. As for this year's football team, many alumni are just happy to school is in the conversation with the top Norcal schools. Why not revel in it, only time will tell if this is an aberration or the start of a new tradition on Phelan.

All I know is he disapeared when he was called out for being a Sac native. He knew way too much about the area not to be ;)

He is not the "transplant fan." LMAO!!!

Whatever happened to to Marquis Katley? Basketball player from Riordan.

Ended up finishing his career in the East Coast at Morgan State. I believe, under ex-Cal coach Todd Bozeman....

Wow, thanks. I didn't know that. I still vaguely remember him starring for Riordan some time ago. Always wondered where he ended up.

Kateley was really explosive player. That was a great team Riordan had. I remember sitting next to Rick Majerues at a playoff game when he coached Utah. He was recruiting him hard. Funny guy Majerous. RIP.

Dear Larry,

I started to write Dear Abby, I hopes that you would follow my lead in finding out why you would even have an opinion about Riordan in SF or the Bay Area. The Valley has been and always will be 2nd place, so please go back to the grassy field and pray for rain

We Are One...We R Riordan

The Valley has always been second place?

Riordan and SF NEVER win state titles. You guy's arent EVEN in the conversation...EVER!!!

You guy's are running at JV level out there ;)

Most of your fields look like the 1960's came back and threw up in them :):)

You guy's are what? Division 16 since all the families started leaving the Bay Area? LMFAO!!! ;)

I love it when I loop in a drone....

I said Bay Area which in includes all of the Bay Area.
I want you to focus on Riordan and spend time researching their records.
The reality is Riordan is in The Bay Area and our community of programs both in Football and Basketball over achieves the Valley as if the Bay Area is Div.1 and the Valley (except for sentinel sightings) is s competitive CYO,...

Much respect to every parent who brings KrispyKreme to every post game treat.

How about this for a record. When Riordan won a state title in basketball in 2002, it was the FIRST SF state title since the 1920s.

We have won more state titles in football in Folsom than you have league titles in the last decade. Get outta here! Lol

Enough said.

Bye. Lol. ;)

Thus protest so loudly....

I understand the frustration of feeling second best. The Valley has felt that way about the WCAL When is was the Bay Area Catholic league or whatever It was called.

Hello or Bye, the Valley let's out a sigh when the think of the Bay Area HS Prep sports.

We Are One...We R Roirdan

Second best? You haven't even won your league in a decade? We have TWO state titles in that time.

The frustration of families leaving the Bay Area, gracing us with a galore of football talent is yet very evident ;)

Your best league team would be a third place team in our league.

We are one...We are the defending State Champs ;)

Riordan...LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Father...please give me the strength to not laugh at Riordan...or at the Bay Area for that matter....

Please forgive me father...for I have sinned.

:)

Didn't Riordan have a BB squad in the mid 90's? Met a guy at the barbershop some years back who played for them during that time.

HaHa,

At least your seeking out Faith-Base solutions....for how long you have carried this cross, I can understand your inner demons.

Have faith and look deep...

We Are One....We R Riordan

Faith had brought us two state titles ;)

Oh father, how art though...

They won it all in 2002. That's why I asked about Marquis Katley. He was a baller.

So your now calling the WCAL is a weaker league?

Be careful you might lose your Christian Card....

Hold back on your Our Father and get in some Mary full of grace

I think you have been watching too much "Lord of the Rings" and your starting to believe in make believe

WCAL is a weaker league than the SFL.

That is a fact. Riordan would be a third place team in our league. Possibly a 4th place team.

Oh father, how art though. Thank u oh father for our state title rings.

You're right. You could call us Lord of the Rings. Rings are something you know nothing about in the WCAL or at Riordan ;)

HaHa,

Great Segway on the rings, but the WCAL is still one of the Top FB in the State. As far as BB....I would be shock if another poster would confirm your rankings....sounds line your carrying this thread on ur own.

Kind of like feeling 2nd best, you try and try snd you just come up short. Take the Avis Motto...We Try Harder

We Are One...We R Riordan

We like winning up here...

Our heavenly father has blessed us with winners. With rings. With the #1 rated city in CA for families :)

Our father has blessed us.

We work harder ;)

Riordan had some very good teams in the mid 80s as well. They won CCS Dl titles back in the '85 and '86 when there were only 2 divisions (large school Dl and small school Dll). They were led by All American Terrence Mullins, who went on to star at Oklahoma and was a starting back court mate of Mookie Blaylock on their NCAA runner up team in '88.

This guy is professing the greatness of Riordan and hasn't seen even a section title in decades.

We want winners up here. You don't get trophies for decades old accomplishments and old, broken down facilities ;)

As far as WCAL football, it was always the peninsula and south bay teams that won league. You're right in that football in San Francisco does not have a rich championship history. However, Riordan has the most WCAL championships of the City schools. Their most recent section title in football was 2007 - not "decades" ago. Despite this, quite a few players went on to the pros. Steve Sewell (Univ of OK; Denver Broncos); Derek Loville (Oregon; Seahawks/49ers/Packers); Don Strickland (Colorado;Colts/ Jets/49ers/Chargers); Eric Wright (USC; Browns/Lions/Bucs/49ers). It was pretty cool that 3 of these guys played for their hometown team, and 2 of them grew up in the neighborhood of Candlestick Park.

As for basketball, Riordan is a perennial power. 13 CCS titles, 3 NorCal titles (1989/2001/2002); and 1 State championship in 2002. They were NorCal runner-ups as recently as 2013 & 2014. Also the WCAL has at least 3-4 teams in the NorCal playoffs every year. Mitty, SHC, St. Francis, and Riordan all have State championship "rings" in hoops.

I know all about Riordan guys. I have a couple uncles who held there own back in the glory days. One might still have a track record or 2. It was the "working" class catholic education back then. The wealthy went to SI. I'm just giving you a hard time. I spent a lot of time sitting in those stands as a boy watching the crusader classic. But this has always been a basketball powerhouse. A lot has changed with people moving out of the city. The poor city that many of us love is going through a crisis. A sliver of the of the population can afford to live there and raise a family. I mean a small piece of the pie too.

Hey Valley

I never stated Riordan was a FB powerhouse, my statement that brought many of the valley drones into the debate between of-the Bay Area vs the Valley and the difference in the surperior level of talent between the two.

One poster talked about Folsom and he wanted to compare them to riordan? He missed the last boat out cause the challenge was Bay Atra. I support Riordan and I am estatic about how they are doing this year....but please "valley boys" takd thetime to Read. I better give lititeracy rates between the two also.

Now wait for it.... Our De La Salls is the top protean in the north .i also happens to be faith based.....sorry public and valley...

Don't hate the player, hate the game

We Are One...We R Riordan

Literacy rates? You sound like an old man.... :)

I have actually never heard the term "valley boys." This isn't the 1960's and the south.

I bet you don't even know where Folsom is on a map! LMAO!

This entire post is the result of a PERFECT STORM...

...the vile, inflammatory views of G61 vs. the rauchous, attention-seeking "ho's" of the Jackrabbit fandom...

It can't get any better than this....

TedSmithers- I would characterize my views as a bit more "realistic" than vile and inflammatory ;)

But you have to admit...When G61 hops on a thread...all bets are off. Look at the view counts!

your absolutely right g61,

Your need for recognition stems from either bring a born Valley Boys or the attendance of a Sacramento school. Either one is classified as a special class.

I was surprised by your sensitivity about regarding Folsom. I hope the best for your program. But to put the Janet Jackson flavor on your post...."What had it done for me". Your achievements are like Riordan's hoops accompmishnents. Not very recent...I would hood

I think I lost my initial reply....

Yes Ted,

An old poster returning up find newer ones full of piss and vinegar. Recent FB titles that are almost a decade old. And comparing legacy programs of BB or FB to s program of school that is in their puberty ( as are their posters)

The reality is this board is made up of haves and haves not, the haves not seem to shine when the can crow like grandma's old chicken. I know I should mention these same posters live right down the road from Fosters.

First of all, it seems like somebody has a literacy problem. It is "being born" not "bring born." Looks like that private school didn't teach you proper grammar or spell check.

As far as accomplishments go- How about a D1 State Title in football last year and in 2010. Is that recent enough for you.

Don't be mad because all the families are leaving the Bay Area in mass.

We love it here, that's why we tell all you "old folks" to stay where you are ;)

We are winners- We are Folsom
