The 6-7 No. 1 in the class of 2022 will join 6-4 Cameron Brink in the front court for two years while Haley Jones roams the wing.

Tara's not retiring any time soon ...

Don't forget the great 6-2 point forward from Mater Dei. She enters The Farm this summer too. A tremendous, selfless talent. Like a Haley Jones 2.0. What a combo those two will be.

Thanks. Her name escaped me for some reason. The gray cells have been dulled by days and nights stuck in a basement bunker since mid-March of 2020. The usual razor-sharp cerebrum is suffering from squishy focus.

@ClayK Why do you think the recruiting has picked back up for Stanford in the past few classes? Or has it been steady?

A lot of these players have come from the West Region which helps, but it seems their recruiting has been maybe the best in the country the past few classes

Would not be shocked if Kate Paye is the primary reason. She is in line to take over for Tara V. when she finally hangs up her whistle. Paye is a tireless recruiter and a former player for the Cardinal.

A big part of it, I think, is the Pac-12's steady rise over the past decade, and also the style of play. The SEC, for example, despite its reputation is a league based on athleticism, defense and rebounding, while the Pac-12 shoots threes and showcases the modern game. If you're an elite player with dreams of a pro career, the Pac-12 is going to prepare you better ... and then toss in the Stanford education, the Bay Area lifestyle and California weather, and it's a pretty potent mix.
