Yes, it happens, not shocking, but this is the biggest margin of victory noted in a long while by a local team. Walters is attracting some young talent.

It's crazy how much further along DLS gets their kids than other schools. I've seen the DLS Frosh lose some games and then come back the next year and beat that same team. Then come back the next year and blow them out entirely lol.

DLS doesn't typically lose due to lack of talent at the freshman level. They lose because they stay true to the same schemes they run at the varsity level, even though they are not the best way to win freshman football games. Too many freshman programs run offenses or defenses that are not true what their varsity team runs, choosing instant freshman success over the delayed gratification of varsity championships 3 years later. Not shocking that a program like DLS who prides itself on humility and hard work is willing to take some lumps as freshman if it means being better when it counts.

That's so true. my freshman year at DLS we went 2-2-2

That's always been funny for me to watch too. Varsity runs Double Wing. JV runs Spread. Freshmen run Pro I.

The kids from Cal High class of 2015 beat De La Salle the final game of the season in 2011 to become the only football team in Cal High history to go undefeated. Naturally, they got blown out the following three years, multiple times. Outstanding lineman Sullivan for DLS did not play in this game because he was moved up to JV. Not sure how many other Spartans were moved up that year? This is also the only season lights out left handed pitcher Justin Hooper played football at DLS. Enjoy!

Would've been news if it was varsity but freshman...C'mon man!!
I think it's great news for Liberty and their community. After 100 plus years the school won its first ever playoff game last season and they travel just as well or if not better than any school in NCS. A program on the rise!

Congratulations to Liberty. As has been said, beating the frosh is not like beating the varsity, but 36-12 is a little eye-opening.

In 2011, SRV's senior, junior, and freshmen classes all beat DLS as freshment, but the SRV varsity lost 2 games that year by a combined 82-17 and 14 of the 17 came after the 2nd game was already 42-0.

DLS has some advantages, but too many people IMHO attribute their varsity success to talent because it's hard to credit hard work and coaching having that sort of metamorphosis so consistently

Testimony to not only the physical conditioning, but the altruistic approach on life! When you give of yourself greatness is created! Something that hasn't duplicated at a public High School, kids get side tracked along the way with other things Peer Pressure, Drugs and Alcohol, social media..etc. Serve life's purpose and it will serve you.

With all due respect Ebeast, it was very present for a short while at Cal High. In 2008, they took Sparta to the wire as Knowles ripped off a 40 yarder in the last 4:00 to win by 7. In '10, the onside kick game, Cal "almost" had the ball with 3:30 to go, and down by 6. The '11 unheralded D held them to 24 in the rain. Those Cal teams had something that was very alike laSalle and that was solid, beast lines, with players fully committed to their school and neighborhood. There were no D1 NLI big names among those Grizzlies. What they didn't have was dual veer super fast backs. Yes, it takes hard work (Cal High kids did that for years) great coaching (see Lad et al) and buy in by the players. Just think if the Grizz had two Leroy Greens or two Kyle Alvarez' or two Trevor Tafts or two Armani Washingtons or two Karris Johnsons in any given year. Scary. Eidson's super relieved look after he left the field in '10 was tell-tale.

Don't I know EBeas! Feel fortunate mine played in the heyday. Although I believe BSB will continue to thrive.
