In a 4-13 matchup, it was a back and forth first half to open up the North Coast Section playoffs. However, a 19-5 run by No. 10 James Logan turned the tide in a 66-55 win over Mt. Eden.

The Colts were +16 on two point field goals with a decided advantage in the half court. They also made seven of their last nine free throws and nine of 11 to close out the win.

Edra Luster (No. 14 in 2017 class) had a game high 15 points in adding key rebounds and shot blocking. Ryan Parilla had 14 points (seven in the fourth). Noah Conner (No. 33 in 2017 class) and Jordan McGlory each finished with 11 points.

Mt. Eden knocked down six threes and led by five points in the first half. In the fourth quarter, the Monarchs got the deficit down to four points before a quick four point spurt on back-to-back dunks by Logan.

Jacob Duran and Jeff Okeke each had 14 points for Mt. Eden while Tony Covington (No. 39 in 2017 class) finished with 13 points (10 in the first half) with three 3s. Patrick Ramos was also in double figures at 10 points.

Logan is back in action on Friday against Castro Valley, which beat No. 5 seed Freedom 69-63.
