Strange huh? Sophomore from a winless team gets a PAC 12 offer. Shows that you don't need to transfer to a powerhouse to get attention. Nevertheless, we will continue to hear that excuse from fans of recruiting teams.

You make a good point. The proliferation of off-season prep football camps, individual tutors, recruiting services, the influence of Youtube, Twitter, etc. (hello, NorCal Preps by the way) all contribute to the massive improvement in the recruiting info ballgame. It's becoming rare for a real prospect to slip through the cracks. However, strong, winning programs still attract recruiters. And, when they visit or view prospects at those schools, their sharp gaze might fall upon other kids who might be under the radar. In the end, true talent wins out no matter where a kid may be playing in high school. It's probably just a bit easier to grab attention at the high-end prep programs.
